And for all we know….Flores and Bill never really got along. Who knows. That could be why he doesn’t care that he’s dragging Bill into this.

Good. Hopefully this exposes the bullshit bellichick incest. The only reason joe judge was hired as a complete nobody was bellichick. And they thought bellichick was the lead guy to recommend his replacement? His hold on the league is just bizarre.

Flores is telling the truth about everything. Watching his interview it's obvious. This man is not a liar. The Billionaire owner damn sure is. Hue isn't a liar either.

Even without this lawsuit, Goodell knows what pressure the NFL is under to hire minority candidates so there will be pressure to hire a non-white candidate in at least one of the remaining openings. |

There are two interpretations.
1. Black coaches don’t get hired because they aren’t as qualified as white coaches. 2. Racism. If you believe there are (even proportionally) as many qualified Black coaches/front office workers, then you look at a conscious push to hire them as a move toward equity, and long overdue. You look at the WHITE coaches as having been given Special Treatment. If you believe there are simply not Black candidates as worthy of the job - at all levels, apparently - then you think of it as “affirmative action” and special treatment. Ignoring that you are racist in your initial thinking that Black candidates simply aren’t as qualified as White ones, then you still have the problem of seeing a move towards fair and equitable hiring practices as negative. These candidates are getting special treatment that take away from a qualified White candidate! It is a way of brainwashing to view the advancement of minorities as negative and the protection of white dominance as positive. |

I belong to a minority group as well and I‘m in a leadership position at a major investment bank but would never hire someone just because he or she is belongs to my or any minority group, the qualification should always be the major hiring criteria. Certainly there are people out there who do not perform well in job hiring interviews, but as person in leadership position, usually you are still capable of identifying whether that specific person is still qualified. I can understand the frustration of minority people, people of color, but there are examples out there, in which a black GM or person of color hired a white person. It’s not all about racism. The process itself must be fair and balanced, meaning, you should be able to apply.

And if you had an office that was 2/3 Hispanic, wouldn’t a Hispanic at least have a good shot because of how they’re able to connect with the team? Wouldn’t a guy who grew up from the streets or poverty we’ll connect with nfl rosters that very often grew up from rough backgrounds? The whole thing defies any logic. Since you’ve been on the hiring end, I’m sure you also understand the controls companies put in place to make sure hiring does not discriminate and also does not favor. Resume screens are blind because it was shown that ethnic names significantly fail resume screens. You have diverse hiring panels, diverse conferences, leadership development programs, etc… Would you agree that diverse talent today is way more qualified than it was 20 years ago? It’s not because of quotas. It’s because they do way more to make sure the hiring process truly gives everyone a shot to at least be heard and many of them will shine if you recruit and develop them right. The nfl always seems to lag behind on basic issues like this. The fact that Daniel Snyder got away as recently as a decade ago with a blatant hostile workplace shows that too much is old school. Nepotism continues to be a HUGE force in the nfl meaning the process is way more about who you know vs what you know. Black GMs may not be hiring black head coaches. But they seem to be doing way more to make sure their staffs are diverse. As I’ve said before it seems more a bottoms up issue than top down. This is a failure to bring quality diverse talent in and develop and advance them appropriately. I suspect it will solve itself in a few years. But only after decades of failed practices. |
