Part of the problem is these games, for new teams and especially QB's, are not the same as a week 9 game. There is way more pressure than any player has ever faced. Even if they played in a national championship its not apples to apples.

Mahomes was drafted 10th and not viewed as a thoroughbred. Or so&so was drafted in the later rounds, thus a steal.

It's hard to repeat. Even if they beat the Rams in 2018, do they still win in 2019? Is the hunger and passion still there? Do they make it three straight appearances in 2020? Do other teams sit with their thumbs up their asses while we're making three or five straight SB trips?

The only way it matters at all is if somehow Denver were to make the playoffs.
