I once got in trouble with N9ne Inch nails....

We sat by a pond on a blanet, over a 12 pack of Busch Light, the temperature just cool enough we needed to sit closely as we had no jackets. The moon glistened off of the water and as she went down to my lap she said...."I can tell you're kind of big in the pants. Sing something romantic and I'll mmmmffffff mmmffffff"

and I sang....
Bow Down befoooooore the one you serve, you're gonna get...what...you....deserve..

I wanna...

I heard the new song linked in the media gallery...and I have to say. I thought it sucked sweaty prison balls.

Sheesh! I just don't understand Metallica bashers. First you say that they "sold out", because they did something artistically different with more obvious vocal melodies and style variations, now that they're going back to their roots you say that they're just "rehashing" old stuff?... Isn't that a double standard? Why chastise artists anyway? It doesn't make sense to me.

And some of you won't listen to the old stuff because you don't like the new stuff? How does that make sense? Carlota just played "Lick it Up" by Kiss on her radio show- which is a song I don't like at all, but it certainly doesn't make me hate KISS. It doesn't affect the way Detroit Rock City sounds (which I love).

And why hate Metallica for standing up against illegal downloads? They felt like they were just defending themselves against people stealing from them. They might have gone about it wrong and made an emotional decision instead of calculating how "un-cool" would make them look, but it's no reason to hate their Music. Lars is decent guy. My Dad worked for him on tour, and Lars was one of the nicest, down to earth musicians that he's ever worked for. He may not have done a "cool" thing, but screw "cool" that doesn't even matter.

But I guess the haters will hate.... sigh...

LOL! Yeah, a lot of people hated that song. It was called KISS's sell out song, but that band never made any mistake that they'd do whatever it took to make money. That being said, I actually like the live version of the song. It's usually less disco-y. Not that I hate Disco or anything.

Metallica is the cool. and

Yes, i don't understand the "they sold out" part that some fans say.
Whatever.

Most of them just follow the crowd on that issue.

this CD does remind me of the pre-douchetastic Metallica. But I know the truth... they are still douchetastic.

The music itself is probably the best that Metallica has put out in a while, but the lyrics/vocals are terrible. Basically, I'm into each song until Hetfield starts singing...

I agree.

They would have been better off with the following song list:

1. Orion II
2. The Call of Ktulu II
3. Anastesia pulling teeth II
4. Orion III
5. The Call of Ktulu III
6. Sanitarium acoustic instrumental version.

Carlota - Is your station going to play the new Vedera (KC band) CD (called "Stages") when it's released? They attended the radio stations executives conference at EPIC headquarters in New York last spring and are supposed to be getting a lot of stations support. You may not know them as they are more pop than rock but they seem to have a pretty good following in Las Vegas. They are produced by Mike Flynn / EPIC records. Just wondering. Thanks.
