The K-State band plays Rock N Roll part 1 and as Chiefs fans we are used to saying "We're gonna beat the hell out of you!", the K-State student body chant's "We're gonna beat the **** out of you!" in unison, clear as day.

Now see... There's where I think you're starting to go a bit too far.

The only environment you should expect to have full control of is your home. If you choose to leave the house with your children, they might (probably will) hear or see things you don't approve of.

It's not the end of the world if they do. I know I certainly wasn't that sheltered, and my boys won't be either.

But that's my family. How you handle yours is obviously up to you.

Just don't expect the rest of the world to conform to your rules.

If that means helping some folks discover their own personally flaws, I accept that responsibility as well. Consider yourself better off because you read this post. Someday you might understand it.

In an effort to make it seem like I'm "parenting", I'm going to tell other people what to do in order so that I can call it parenting.

I expect some unpleasantry, without a doubt. But if I can influence a situation, I will. Most civilized people will realize that they're in a family environment and edit themselves.

I don't usually make a big deal out of it, standing on some soapbox and preaching. I get their attention, say "Hey, there's kids around. You might want to watch your language." Evertime I've done that, people have been contrite and ceased their use of foul language.

The funny thing is that people can always make their point without having to resort to cursing. From my perspective, using foul language is usually demonstrative of poor language skills and below average creativity.

I think you're in a world of hurt when your kids get to adolescence. Kids are rebellious.

You are talking about silencing an entire student body. That just ain't going to happen. If this was say a restaurant and the group was of 6, you have a much bigger case of "civility" and "etiquette". At a football game, with massive amounts of people (kids mainly), alcohol and the like, you don't have that kind of luxury. Therefore, if you don't like it, don't take your kids there.

It's like you complaining about what's on the television unaware or unwilling to change the channel.
