It's being reported here locally that the city is shutting down all the gas stations at 2:30. (Or should Bob Dole say, shut them down at 2:30). Bob Dole doesn't know if this is factual.

Whoever is behind this, they accomplished what they wanted. They've thrown the entire country into a state of panic.

This is a terrorist act a multitude of times more complex and expensive than anything done before, than anything even *attempted* before. While I believe that Bin Laden did play a part, what I'm really wondering is which [i]nation(s)[/i] backed it. Calling it an "act of war" might not be that far...

Can someone either make these idiots stop announcing the location of important government officials, or ship all the media off to Afghanistan so we always know where bin Laden is hanging out?

Calling all donors........Especially O-neg......make an appointment to donate. My wife runs the apheresis dept here in the North Bay and sez folks are lined up to donate - a three hour wait. As a long time O-neg donor myself, I've never seen a response like this. Americans are pulling together like Pear Harbor just happened. But there could be a critical shortage real soon when the victims need emergency operations. It will be a logistical nightmare to get the blood to the victims. Everybody that is elegable - please make an appt to donate - America needs you now....

P.S.......A Thai airliner that came in from Tokyo due for LA just landed here at San Francisco International......the dang thing had an escort of two F-16's just in case. What a weird scene...

Oil companies will raise gas prices to 3 or 4 dollars per gallon for 2 weeks because their refineries were shut down for 2 days.

They LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE warfare, especially when it involves the Middle East.

Yes, the Prez is announced to be on the ground. But the reports are that it is at the SAC base in Nebraska. They are preparing for the need to put the Defcon units [aerial command center designed for post-nuclear attack, reportedly better the AF1] in the air. Safe to say he is presently adequately flanked.

I just saw two of most disturbing videos I think I've ever seen. First a person falling helplessly to their death from the WTC.

Second, and this one infuriates me beyond words, celebration in the streets of Palestine.

Bob Dole doesn't give a rat's a$$ whether bin Laden can be proven to have involvement with this attack or not. He's been involved and vocal prior to this, and his a$$ is fair game.

Same for the rest of the list our gubment maintains. Wipe 'em all out before they have a chance to do more damage.

I haven't seen any of that footage, nor do I want to. I think it might just push me over the edge. I'm SOOOOOO enraged currently!!! I feel helpless and powerless - I don't like those feelings! Knowing that any large metropolis is a likely target in the near future is horrible. For selfish safety reasons, I wish I still lived in rural Iowa. For reasons of unadalturated revenge, I wish I was still in the Marine Corps.
