I know what you're talking about. It's disconcerting, to say the least. Some other posters, however, were claiming that this is simply a PR move, an attempt not to undercut the coach while there are still 2 more games left.

I hope they're right. I would have preferred to hear that he'll give the GM the right to select his own coach, though. Clark could have been a bit more forceful with this point.

Saying that they'll have "input" could also mean that they'll have to explain their rationale for wanting to can Herm.

I'm good with this. Justify the reason, and then execute the plan. Something more than, "He's not my guy." That reason sucks. It should be something more profound, like, "He's one who sucks the penis." NTTAWWT.

I believe that for an organization to be a top notch successful one, the GM and head coach need to be on the same page 100%.

I've never been a young up and coming GM, nor do I know what NFL GMs really think about Herm.

On another note, Herm, a top coach, was forced to keep many old players and Gun and that worked out ok, so maybe this could happen with a great GM.
