Gaz isn't a dumbass because he's not on your wave of opinion. he just looks at it differently.
I'll agree with this to a point. I'm not sure why, but it seems like there's been less debate and more argument this off-season so far. I think, perhaps, the whole "true fans" thing started it. At least that's the first time it actually hit me as something out of the ordinary. Ever since then, people have been very quick to go from discussing a subject to simply blasting dissenting opinion under the guise that their opinion is without merit. It's always been that way to a point, but it seems like people are "taking sides" more often these days.

And I definitely don't get the obsession with WPI. It's starting to be a bit ridiculous.

Stevieray good post

I'll put it this way guys we can't use what or how the chiefs have drafted in the past. Tendencies are thrown out this is a new regime. We don't know how we are gonna draft.

Sanchez? I for one am not sold on him but if you think he is a franchise qb you take him

Crabtree? He better be the next great WR if you are gonna take him that high

Curry? I don't know much but one again that high better be a cross of DT and LT

Maualuga? I know I misspelled it again if he is the second coming of ray lewis to high if not.
Stafford? Is he Elway two or Jeff George two for me a little too inconssistent but was that the receivers fault

OT? Who knows a RT this high

Trade down? This is a patriots manuver but is it a pioli and Haley one who knows

We don't know what they are gonna do so right now there are no dumb picks

There is a dumb pick though. The dumb pick would be grabbing an OT at #3 and moving Albert into play LG. You just wasted two picks and $75 million dollars.

And look.....trading down is fine for people who want to dream but I get tired of hearing the let's trade down argument that involves some reeruned team trading up for no reason and giving us a whole bunch of picks.

Exactly.

Most of this could be avoided if people would only think before they post.

I agree most trade scenarios I've posted are doable. I didn't say all I said most eagles do seen like a possibility. If crabtree wows them at workouts eagles may be desperate enough to trade up for him. We would have to get both firsts, but then again rams probably take him at two so who knows. It's gonna be hard to find a partner to trade with but if that is the route we decide to take I have trust pioli can do it.

I blame DC, Mr. DaFace. Over the course of the last year or two, debate in DC has devolved to little more than name calling - and the more nasty the insult, the better. That style has migrated over here. Sad, really. Planeteers always dissed other posters' opinions - at least ever since I started reading the board. But the quality of insult and debate has deteriorated dramatically.

As for WPI, I completely agree. Personally, and even though I have a serious problem with them, I don't bring them up. What's the point? I would, however, mention that WPI is brought to this board in the form of spam quite often and the mods have done nothing to end this practice. We've already had that conversation, so I understand why. Still, I think that's also part of the problem.

I think it's because the Chiefs are finally in a position to land a franchise QB, and some are so excited about this possibility that their exuberance morphs into a sledge when others don't understand why they, too, should be equally thrilled.

It's tough love.

I say all this calms down after the draft.

I do wish that posters could have differing viewpoints without someone immediately playing the "moron" card, Mr. stevieray. The Planet would, as a result, be more intellectually satisfying, I think.

Nevertheless, I remember my first post that had to do with my idea for an offensive scheme in a particular game. Someone (I don't remember who), bashed me mercilessly because he disagreed with my idea (which was excellent, by the way). Of course, that particular poster offered no plans of his own, but that's another story. I mention this to make the point that peeps have been slamming other peeps' opinions on this board for a very long time. It used to be done in better humor, however. I think that's what's changed.

I think it used to be done in better humor, Mr. FAX, because people often had a well thought-out opinion, and could lay out and argue their case. It's pretty easy to respect someone's opinion when it's obvious they took the time to do some research and think it through. Arguments were laid out point by point, like an attorney would do for a jury. The endgame was often posters deciding to "agree to disagree."

Now, more often than not, the people that get bashed the hardest are the folks that make it painfully obvious they gave no thought whatsoever to their opinion before they posted it, or started a new thread about it when that exact topic is being discussed in several other threads at the exact same time.

Ok so let me say this then

Certain chiefs fans don't want to give thigpen time to grow, but then you say you want to draft a franchise qb. But if you won't give the time to develop thigpen how do you expect to have the patience to develop sanchez or stafford?

If as OTW you need facts I can get them. I know there is a chance he could be the one a million guy that comes in and dominates. But let me tell you although rothesberger, flaco, and Ryan weren't dominant they had good teams. How do you know thigpen with a better d and o line couldn't do great as well.

Now I'm not saying pulling a croyle and giving him the starter position but add some competition and see what he could do. But at least give him a chance before calling him a bust.
