Race for the #1 pick

We're losing ground.

Colts: 0-4
Vikings: 0-4
Dolphins: 0-4
Rams: 0-4
Chiefs: 1-3
Jaguars: 1-3
Broncos: 1-3
Eagles: 1-3
Panters: 1-3
Seahawks: 1-3
Cardinals: 1-3

Important games the Chiefs need to lose:

As long as we keep losing badly, I think we'll be ok here. We just need consistency from every position. The coaches are pulling out all the stops to keep this thing together. Piscitelli and McGraw will be crucial to our success in this down the stretch. Whatever they're doing right now, it's totally working and they should keep it up.

Chiefs: 0-2
Panthers: 0-2
Colts: 0-2
Vikings: 0-2
Seahawks: 0-2
Dolphins: 0-2
Rams: 0-2

Rams added to OP. Let's look at some games these teams could win.

Chiefs: Minnesota, @Indianapolis, Denver.

We really need to drop one of the first two.

Panthers: Minnesota, Tennessee, @Indianapolis.

I feel pretty good about the Panthers winning all three of these games, plus pick up another one somewhere down the line.

Colts: KC, Jax, Carolina, Tennessee, @Jax.

It helps that Carolina and Indy play each other. We really, really need the Colts to beat us because their schedule is tough outside these games.

Vikings: @Carolina, Denver, KC.

Ouch. Ouuuuuuuch. Maybe the Vikings could beat the Cardinals or Redskins? That's the only hope I see here.

Seahawks: Cincy, @STL, STL, SF, @Arizona.

I feel good about the NFC West helping us out here.

Dolphins: Denver, KC, Buffalo, Oakland, @Buffalo.

Feel good about this. Miami is not horrible. They could also pick up a win against the Jets perhaps.

Rams: @Dal, @Ari, @Cle, Sea, Ari, @SF, @Sea, Cin, SF.

No way this team picks #1.

We really, really need to lose to Minnesota and Indy.

I'm not religious, I don't believe in karma, and I'm not superstitious, but my rampant pessimism has me expecting the Chiefs to tie someone for the worst record in the league yet lose out due to the strength of schedule tiebreaker.

Why would our SOS hurt the chiefs? They have a tough schedule.

According the linked article in Claythan's sig, Luck has already stated that he will be declaring for the draft after the season.

Can't wait for the meltdown when you guys tie Seattle in record but Seattle get the #1 pick because of a weaker schedule.

The tougher the schedule, the better you have to be to win. 1-15 team with a tougher schedule is "better." Better team= lower draft pick.
