X and O Guys - How Did Denver Just Shut down the Chiefs Blitz?

All with football acumen please help me understand. Why didn't the Chiefs Defense touch 5 head, neck bone at least once or twice?

first defensive series, Hali is horse collared, no call. I get they won't call holding for OT's that can grab the "steering wheel", but JFC that should have been called.

there were a few downfield blocks by WR's & TE that happened before the ball got to the player and then there was early contact on Bowe when he didn't reach out to grab that 4th qtr pass.

The fact that Manning was under 50% completion shows that the defense brought pressure enough for manning to throw before plays were formed. The defense held manning to a shitty game, there is no doubt about it. The offense lost us this game, there is no need to talk about our D, it's elite.

As someone has already mentioned, Hali, Houston and co were getting held all day long but hey you gotta realize that the NFL are just looking after their golden boy, one hit on that ankle and Manning could be out for the rest of the year and possibly playoffs. Denver without Manning would suck.

Never had the ball in his hands long enough for a pass rush to get there. A guy coming completely free is the only way he would have been hit iirc.

This is how they stopped Tamba last night. JFC these ref's are protecting Manning like no other.

Houston had some good pressure at times. He pushed Orlando Franklin right into Fivehead and force the bad throw. He also forced a holding penalty on Franklin when he owned him again.

I saw another pressure from him as well. But all in all, they got the ball out too fast most of the time.

There was no blitz to shut down because the coaches made the correct decision to NOT blitz Manning. Based on the stats it was the right call too.

Now, the refs not calling holding penalties on Denver is a whole different matter.

Don't know if you guys saw Trent Dilfer's analysis but I thought he was spot on.

We are good at what we do but to mix up looks to keep the QB honest. It becomes dramatically easier for Peyton if you are throwing the same thing at him on every play.

And unless you have a specific example of a play where a Chiefs O-lineman held a Bronco defender and wasn't flagged, then you're just worthless troll who is a waste of bit transfer when you bump your dirty peckerskinners across the keyboard.

Eat a bag of dicks after you do another dab, Donkeyfan.

We're gonna break 5head's neck in two weeks.
I can do better. How about Bowe pushing off on his TD? Your right guard practically tackled our guy on Charles huge run, or Flowers hitting Welker after the play was over, three no calls on those you baby.

Don't get me wrong, I am very disappointed the Chiefs didn't knock Manning down a few times but I am not going to hang this game on our defense at all. They did all they could.

Flowers was targeted 8 times , he gave up 7 catches and one pass interference penalty. He did not have a good game just because he hit Welker after the play a few times. Also, it was not Flowers that put the big hit on Welker.
