The list is so long it's scary. We might be a game or two down from where we are but we would have 2 2nd round picks to get a QB of the future. This is the most painful bandaid in history. If we went 0-16 we would literally need one of the best QBs in history, in order to win the Super Bowl with that same team/coaching staff. Assuming you mean legitimately 0-16, and not by throwing games away deliberately.

It's the concept not the record. I want a true QB of the future not some used hand me down condom. Then get another 2 possible QBs that can push him and we can trade one of them for 2 2nd round picks for a backup. It's our turn god damn it.

Hey. I'm as pissed of as the next guy that we couldn't have our Andrew Luck at #1, and had to settle for a Tackle, but at the time, Alex Smith was the best option. Now, whether or not 2 2nds is too much, is another argument.

Ehhh there are 2-3 guys that would have been a cheap 1-2 year bandaid that would likely have done as well. Price was insane so there is no argument. The sooner we can get a real prospect in the fold and quit this insanity on retreads and love of crappy OL the better.

However, how Alex has played in the past two weeks has been pretty pleasant to watch. If he plays like that consistently it'd make things interesting. What would be interesting, is the improved QB play crossed with the shut-down defense of weeks 1-9, not the shit-house secondary we've seen as of late.

Why? Denver's D is known crap. Cassel had several good 2 game stretches in 2010. The QB position is barely improved from 2010. He had the best two games of his career and we still lost. Big whoop. He will never be good enough to take us to the promised land. Just be Alex Mediocre Smith. That is his middle name in case you were wondering.
