Michael Scherer single-handedly lost that game for Missouri. That was probably the worst performance by any Missouri linebacker I've ever seen.

He took a terrible angle on third down that let Towles escape on his first touchdown. It cost the team at least four points. He totally whiffed on the play fake on the second TD when it was 1st and Goal from the 25, costing the team again. Kentucky gained almost 140 yards on their first TD drive, almost entirely by throwing in the deep middle, the area that Scherer is supposed to patrol.

With that said, Simon dropped a sure interception that cost the team seven and Penton's PI killed the team.

Of course, the receivers were terrible, the line was terrible, and Mauk was hammered shit on almost every throw past four yards tonight.

Lock getting the yips on the pass to Moore (although he probably would have dropped it) and Moore dropping a sure TD pass from Mauk didn't help things.

Josh Henson looks like a ****ing ass bag for that 3rd and Goal playcall, but to be honest, you can't really trust Mauk in that situation. He had all day on 1st and goal and threw it right to a defender, then did his pirouette on 2nd and Goal.

I told my father-in-law after the Connecticut game that they'd be lucky to win another game this year. A few days later I thought I was being hyperbolic, but if Brothers is out for an extended period, this team is ****ing done.

That Kentucky team sucks ass.

Mizzou should not have even been ranked. What a bs way for Kentucky to get a win over a ranked team.

To be fair that Towles TD was a complete whiff on the whole defense. They had him boxed in and let him escape....

And that happened several times tonight.

You are right that other defensive players ****ed up on that play too (and tackling was horrible tonight overall), but Scherer had the easiest play to make and just whiffed. He's just not athletic enough to play that position.

Brandon Lee is undersized for the position, but he's a much better athlete.

Preseason rankings are silly anyways IMO...shouldn't be a poll until the 1st week in October.

I'd be fine with dropping out of the top 25 by a large chunk. The injuries along aren't going to be easy to overcome. The coaching decisions could be overcome, but prolly won't. GP's in a win-win situation; if Mauk pulls something out he claims he's brilliant. If Mauk fails, he claims he's a kid-first coach (his favorite kids that is), and too many people will eat it up.
