Mecole Hardman doesn’t need to be Reggie Wayne to have a huge impact on this offense.

Even if he’s good for 600-800 yards and 6-8 TDs per year, he was still a good pick. Those big plays are invaluable. He’s a matchup nightmare and can change a game with a big return or big reception.

He’s done it time and time again.

What are you talking about? Hardman is never going to take over Watkins position. He isn't the same kind of receiver at all, never mind that he's probably not going to even reach Sammy's football IQ for several years. If ever.

But the bottom line is that Hardman is more likely to replace Hill, not Watkins.

I hope Mecole works his ass off this offseason, because I think he has a big opportunity to shine next season.

I think with the additions on the OL, we are going to 1) have a running game that defenses will have to respect, reducing the numbers in the secondary; and 2) Patrick will have more time for the deeper routes to develop, which will align well with his best asset - speed - to create separation downfield.

Additionally, should the rookie WR, or Callaway, pan out early (moreso than Pringle/DRob) it will free Hardman up even more.

He has a big opportunity to become more than a jet-sweep specialist, if he works his ass off.
