If you go by post 1148, it says the Browns may not take a QB in round 1. If that is the case, Smith would probably be in demand for the Browns for more than one season... even up to 4 to 5 like he was here. Be a smart move for the Browns IMO.

We're not getting two second rounders. Cleveland has three picks in the second round:
Theirs, the Eagles, and The Texans We will be extremely lucky if we end up with the texans pick but more likely....we end up with the eagles 2nd round pick plus some 4th or 5th rounder. I will straight up pull my dick out and beat off if we get the texans or CLE second rounder.

Smith is 34 in a few months... I don't know that he's playing until he's 39.

And, honestly... one of the first things Dorsey did in KC was trade for Smith. Does anyone really see that happening again?

I'm not sure why everyone is so convinced the Browns want him. John Dorsey liked Alex Smith so much he drafted his replacement. He also doesn't have any real reason to make a good trade deal with the team that kicked him to the curb. It also seems like there will be quite a few free agent QBs available, and it's pretty easy to make the argument that not all of them are a downgrade from Smith.
And that's not even mentioning the QBs available in the draft. Maybe they want a stop-gap QB to bring some stability to the position there during a transition, but there are options that don't involve Dorsey giving a good trade deal to the team that just got done ****ing him. |

Dorsey would be a bigger man than most of us if he became trade partners with Fat Andy unless he really felt like he was sticking it to the Chiefs.

If the Browns wanted to trade for a stopgap they'd probably want AJ McCarron. Heck, if he wins his appeal they might be able to get him as an UFA.
Todd Haley is their new OC, would two formerly fired Chiefs guys want to deal with KC? Last edited by Quesadilla Joe; 01-22-2018 at 10:58 PM.. |
