But with an offense as explosive as ours is, is it more important to save 10 yards when you're punting from the 50 (because how many of Colquitt's punts inside the 50 are downed at the 15 for a nominal benefit) or get another 15 on the rare occasions your buried inside your own end? I mean we only punted 45 times last year - would you rather have the big league that can flip a field on the times we punted from deep in our territory or the more accurate one that can save a handful of yards punting from theirs? I'm not actually sure that either side of the argument is correct, but I think there's enough of an argument either way that paying $2+ million more for a punter than you have to is folly. Especially when I think Colquitt's accuracy is largely overrated anyway. The Chiefs had touchbacks on 11.2% of their punts last year - as near as I can figure it, only 2 teams had a higher figure than that last year. The only place the Chiefs punting unit truly excelled last season was on average yards per return and even that may be a result of excellent coverage as much as anything. Even with that, we barely had a net inside the top 10. He isn't a truly great punter. He's a slightly above average punter on a team that has less need for a punter than any squad in football and who needs the cap space wherever it can get it to build it up and allocate it to the young core of this squad. It's time to move on from Colquitt and has been for awhile. Colquitt

Although: Dorsey played LB That gm dude before him, played. Did CP, lol? I know he had a knack for UCLA playas So with the Chiefs it would seem former gms played. I always thought it was the coach who might have played? So what was Veach? Safety? CB?
