I guess my point is, tanking teams don't want fringe replacement level players. They value draft picks to rebuild. If a team is tanking and have a roster need, they will just activate a player from the practice squad who at least already knows their system. Hardman doesn't add value to a tanking team mid-season.
My God those would be some horrific trades.

obj is often hurt and not a fan of small markets. Our playbook is difficult to grasp so not sure how much he could actually contribute this season. A pass rusher or offensive lineman would seem more likely

The draft is in KC, I doubt we will be trading our 32nd overall pick away this year for what its worth

why not convert his entire salary to bonus salary and get a much bigger cap space?

team discovers one simple trick, the NFL hates this!

This isn't the NBA. NFL teams have very limited games to bring in fans. Players have very limited games to go after new contracts. Every team tries to stay competitive or at least tries to show they are. Adding Hardman helps with that. You don't include a contract like Hardman's and have to give up more in draft picks...Again this is not the NBA

A 1 and 2 for Moore is absurd and I hope Veach isn’t that stupid.

Exactly, which is why teams do not acquire fringe replacement level talent mid-season. Why give up an asset in your organization for a package that includes Hardman. As you state, this is not the NBA. Hardman would take weeks to come up to full speed in the new offensive system thus not adding much for this season. The team also knows there is a very real chance Hardman is a outright released at the end of the season and they could just pick him up as a free agent for next year (and if not Hardman then plenty of others right around his abilities). No need to trade to acquire someone of his stature.

Plain and simple, teams want draft picks in these kind of trades so they can rebuild not players who will continue to make them mediocre to average at best.
