Did any of you watch the interview between Looney and Castille on Kcchiefs.com?

I have to admit, Im impressed with this kid. Some of the things he had to say tell me he is going to be a good team player for us. He was like, "I'll do anything the coaches ask of me." I love guys like that! They want to contribute in more ways than one, and never complain on what they're asked to do. Players like Castille are a coaches wet dream.

You know what else I like about this kid? He has the versatility to do a lot of things. He can carry the ball out of the backfield. Remember, he was a RB for Alabama in College, and signed as an undrafted FA by the Cardinals in 2007. The guy can run routes and catch the ball out of the backfield. He will block, I think he will develop into a good one. Plus, he contributes on special teams as well..The kid is a multi purpose player. He is easily better than Cox because he can do more things, he is a better FB overall and I can see why he is starting.

The "I'll do anything the coaches ask of me" is a double edged sword. Just because a guy will suck off the staff in the system doesn't translate to an athletically talented football player. It's just a guy that brown nosed his way to stay on the team, and this staff seems to reward that a lot more than they should. (I.e. the Jon McGraws and Terrence Coppers of the team, realistically these guys should never sniff 1st or 2nd string, but because they adopt "I'll do whatever the coaches ask of me" it makes up for their lack of actual talent so they are given significant playing time. These guys wouldn't play anywhere else in the league like they do here.)

I'm not saying the same applies to Castille, but I'm saying it also hurts us as much as it barely benefits us.

These players are demonstrating good team character imo. Yeah they're not the greatest or flashiest type of players by any means. They're good role players who provide great work ethics, and good overall morale/attitude to the team. you need players like this on your team. It like good medicine for your locker room. I think it players like these that are an integral ingredient for building a championship winner. Basically, they are part of a process in building a winner.

*Besides, McGraw and Copper probably won't be starting by years end. They will however, contribute on special teams. As we know, both guys are excellent special teamers. Good special teamers I'll take that on my team anyday of the week. Chiefs are keeping them around for a reason.
