Houston Signs

Chiefs LB Justin Houston's new 6-year, $101 million deal also is second richest deal in NFL history behind only NdamukongSuh's.

Dorsey kept saying over and over again that Houston wasn't going anywhere and well he didn't. He was a man of his word!!

Would be nice to keep both Abdullah and Berry (God willing he recovers and can play football again at a high level) so we don't have to fill in a massive crater at safety with rookies and dumpster dive players.

We also could really use two of the three: Jaye Howard, Mike DeVito, and Derrick Johnson, again depending on how well they recover from injury.

Everyone else we can make do without, including Sean Smith. Our depth is locked and ****ing LOADED at CB.
Would like to keep those players.

I would like to keep one of Stephenson/Allen if they play well this year. We need some continuity on the ****ing OL.

I wasn't really in doubt that this would happen. Good job, Dorsey, Clark, and Justin.

Great news!

All anyone should be concerned about is the $52 million guaranteed. That's an average of $13 million per season for four years. I'm sure that there are escalators and workout bonuses that get him to about $15 million per but I'm guessing the other $40 million is backloaded into $20 million per season the final two years, which is money he'll likely never see.

We'll know more soon but this appears to be a great deal for both the Chiefs and Houston.

The final piece of the puzzle for a potentially spectacular year is now in place. Still plenty of question marks with the roster, but Dorsey and co have done their best. i for one am hoping to enjoy the ride that a top 5 defense and talented offense can sustain.
