You might want to sit down for this...

Justin Houston missed practice today with a knee injury, per the star.

Hopefully, this isn't anything to be concerned about.

Sorry, I'm going full Hootie on this one. I can't leave it alone.

Do you know how stupid you have to be to question Dr. James Andrews as well as the strength training and medical staff of an NFL football team who help players recover from serious injuries SEVERAL times every ****ing year?

Even in the early part of the season you had assholes going, "Just don't rush him back, please. We need him really healthy." OH ****ING REALLY THANKS FOR THE IDEA GENIUS! I'M SURE THE DOCTORS DIDN'T ****ING THINK ABOUT SHIT LIKE THAT. IF IT WERE UP TO THEM THEY'D PROBABLY LET THE GUY PLAY WHILE STILL IN CRUTCHES.

Houston eventually comes back and plays great. Woohoo! Awesome, right? Well, then the magic word, "KNEE" appears with zero other context or information surrounding it. Then what happens? Keep in mind these assholes don't have a ****ing clue WHICH knee the injury report is talking about. They see it and panic. Sure, that's fine to panic. But what comes next? "God, I ****ing TOLD them here on CP that this would happen if you rushed the guy back on the field too soon! My brain that has zero ****ing clue about recovering from these injuries came up with a suggestion that you shouldn't put a guy on the field too soon if he's not fully recovered. Well, we put him on the field and he's injured so obviously the medical team didn't heed my advice."

It's ****ing hilarious to watch. It really is.

Take this with a grain of salt since I don't know if this applies to all NFL franchises. However, my sister is a physical therapist and did a lot of work with Denver pro teams when she was doing her clinicals. From what I have been told is that the therapist working with the chiefs and broncos are complete jokes.

Basically NFL teams are very cheap and actually pay their therapist below market value so the best of the best don't waste their time unless the player comes directly to them.

Personally I think this would be incredibly stupid on the teams part but that is directly from a person in the business.

I saw a gal at Texas Toms who knows Chiefs' doctor Andrews - apparently he was looking at homes in Raintree.

Not buying it.

If I understand correctly the Chiefs contract out their PT with KU med center or something of that nature.

Did anyone consider that maybe he just bumped knees with someone and encountered a bruise patella or something? Why does everyone jump to the worst possible conclusion with no news?

I'm just getting really ****ing sick and tired of idiots who think they can say reeruned shit and believe they're sounding smart.

They seem to think that when a doctor says, "You're healthy enough to practice football again under ______ conditions until we see ______ signs that you can do limited snaps in games" it means, "Well, you're not quite there, but **** it. Your coach is calling me at ****ing home when I'm trying to watch Westworld, so I'm gonna send you on your way. If it starts to hurt, take some Tylenol and suck it up."

It's like people think Justin Houston is a goddamn video game sprite. "What's his injury status bar at right now? 88%? Damn, we're so close. That's enough to put him back in the lineup, but it's gonna mean a -4 to his close-out speed and -9 to his agility. Not only that, but his injury evade is gonna be really ****ing low at around 55%. I don't think we want that. Better to invest those next two weeks until his status bar reads at least a 95%, if not a 100!"

They have no ****ing clue about reality. None whatsoever.

Any employee with the team told me a few days ago that the relationship between KU Med and the Chiefs begins and ends with the logos you see on practice jerseys and on the roof of the new facility.
