John Lynch has zero affiliation with the Chiefs.

The Chiefs haven't been a laughing stock for the past two seasons.

The Chiefs ownership is in far better standing than the 49ers.

He had his name on some car dealerships as a player but I don't think he had much of anything to do with actually running them at that point. He attempts to surround himself with people who cover his weaknesses and get rid of people who don't perform. He was nowhere near as raw as Lynch is now and he still has had to learn as he goes. So...yeah. I don't think Lynch compares very well to Elway. We'll see what happens.

It's also worth mentioning that Elway wasn't just running the Colorado Crush. Pat Bowlen was mentoring him for 8 years or so. Undoubtedly teaching him the Broncos Way.

You're claiming he had no experience and that the AFL job meant nothing. I would say learning how to run an AFL team under mentorship from the Broncos owner for 8 years really important experience. And running a business operation, whether it's the NFL or the AFL, is not easy work. I am sure Elway learned a ton about how Bowlen conducts business during those 8 years.
