Let's talk about the Steelers...

Here we go, one of the games we circled this year.... although I don't think anyone expected us to be headed back home for this one at 5-0, or for Pittsburgh to be 3-2.

We know the story. They had our number in 2016 with two crushing losses. A lot has changed in 9 months, though....

For one, quarterback play. Alex Smith 2.0 is legitimately playing like the best QB in the NFL right now. Ben Roethlisberger, coming off of a 5 interception performance, looks like one of the worst. He also showed his dramatic nature yesterday when he questioned if he had what it takes anymore toward the media.

Pittsburgh currently has the 28th ranked run defense in the NFL, and Kareem Hunt is playing like the NFL's best RB. Seems like a good recipe for us, especially since Mitch Morse and/or LDT should be back for Sunday. I would guess only Morse. Le'Veon Bell is not playing up to his normal standards thus far, as he has only looked dominant in one game. However, this looks like a tough matchup for us there, as we are the 20th ranked run defense and coming off of a bad performance Sunday night in that regard. Both offensive lines are solid groups, although Pittsburgh's has not been as dominant as they were last year.

Pittsburgh has the #1 ranked pass defense right now. Part of that likely stems from their quality of opponents so far. However, we are going to need Kelce Sunday. If the Chiefs have their three-headed monster against Pittsburgh, they are going to be able to put up points. I think they would against about anyone, if Smith is given serviceable pass protection.

Our pass defense is struggling statistically, although anyone who watched last night could tell you that they were almost always in position to make plays on the back end. The Houston receivers always made the play, though, unfortunately. The Chiefs could really use the boost of Dee Ford and Tamba Hali to help bring pressure off of both edges consistently. I think we will probably see Dee this week, but who knows. The great thing about being 5-0 right now is they still have a lot of room to improve. The defense is no where near as good as they can be. Hopefully they hit stride down the stretch in Dec/Jan when the temps drop down.

Predictions are highly dependent on injuries, but because of all of the drama in Pittsburgh right now and KC being at home-- I am taking KC.

Chiefs 30, Steelers 24

Steelers are still pretty solid in their front-7. I don't think this OL will ever get a break this year, lol.

On another note, there is a way they can beat us. The same way they beat us last year. Keep our offense off the field by holding on to the ball with long drives. Hand the ball off the Bell for 6 minute drives, dominate TOP, and our offense won't get a chance to get in a rhythm.

I see Bell going off for 120+ again.

They've played the Browns and Bears...can you even name their #1 WR...or TE?

This game is about payback...they've had all off-season to think about it. I guarantee you this and the NE game had a big red circle on it...its the two games the will dictate home field advantage. At least before the season started...

I think we'll line up differently on defense. I think that the gameplan will be to take away Bell at all costs.

Will be interesting as this will be the best Offense they have faced so far this season. Just hope Kelce can make it.

... and if not, somehow.. some way..

Incompletius Harris puts his big-boy pants on, and covers those brick-hands with some awesome sticky-gloves.

Sad shame that this former BB player.. all 6' 7" and 240 lbs of him.. the 4.57 speed.. the 36.5" vertical.. the 10-2 broad jumping.. 82 and 3/4 " wingspannin' dynamo... has not emerged as a legit weapon in the pass game.

Just maybe.. he has the game of his life with 8 receptions.. for 130 yards.. and 3 TDs.

still drunk?

hmmm Can the chiefs send Watts to the injury tent two weeks in a row?

They most likely will. In the playoff game they almost kept two high safeties every play in fear of the big play to Brown and Bryant. That left hat on hat blocking in the box, and nobody technically 'free' on Bell. Unless you have 3 defensive lineman that can truly 2-gap, you can't do that shit. I expect to see a lot of under/reduced type fronts with Sorensen in the box as the free player.
