Well, he was told that he would be released on Monday. Teams couldn't sign him until after that. It has since been reported that Cleveland has been getting plenty of calls from teams trying to trade for him.

At this point, I don't know that stupidity fully explains it. Would've said that for sure if not for his mysterious absence in the preseason even given the thin ice he's already skating on. Wonder if this is a Ricky Williams situation where he just needs to step away from the game. He claims his addictions are due to anxiety and I actually buy that.

Given the circumstances, his addictons may be totally explainable.
