Believe what your eyes tell you, not what your heart feels.

Nearly all of us and at a minimum a vast majority has seen this team in the Cassel, Smith and Mahomes era.

Another big chunk have watched the Montana, Green, Gannon, Grbac periods.

And the old farts like me have had to endure Mike Livingston, Mark Vlasic, Steve Pelluer, Bill Kenney and Steve DeBerg.

We ALL know the difference between a really bad team, an average team, an over achiever, an under achiever, a good and great team.

At this point, if you don't realize that this 2023 Chiefs team is average at best and trending down, you need to remove your homer goggles.

I love our team and have spent 53 years rooting for them when it was hard as hell to do and I didn't have other fans to console me after all the loses. I grew up in NJ. There were no Chiefs fans that I knew.

Mahomes and the Super Bowl delivered incredible joy and pride.

Now after 2 Super Bowls and non-stop winning we have hit an off year. It's easy to do in the NFL and we lasted longer than most teams do winning all the time.

Many of you see it but have remained overly optimistic. God Bless your devotion. I did that already for 50 years and now I can be much more realistic after the SB wins.

Do yourself a favor and be honest with yourself. You see it, you feel it and you know it.

This team has no chance in the playoffs. Don't try to tell me anything can happen, because it really doesn't. Yeah, a neat play here or there or maybe a win against a shit team but even now that is unlikely.

This team is burnt out. Since Game 1 not a ****ing thing has improved and in some cases has gotten worse: Mahomes and Kelce in particular.

When your top two stars are ****ing up and look like they need a month off to rest, you know you are in trouble.

I pray everyone stays healthy, we shut this shit show of a season down, rest our franchise QB before he gets injured or killed. The dude was running for his LIFE all day and our Oline has also gone backwards.

We have a great young defense, can focus on Oline and WRs for draft and signing FAs to rebound in 2024.

From play calling, to turnovers to penalties to oline blocking to drops, this has been a brutally ugly season.

Time to turn the page on 2023 and get our shit fixed ASAP cause it ain't gonna change in 2023.

Set aside seeing the Chiefs look like butt****ing morans for a second.

What's arguably as bad as this situation is the implication that the Belicheat / Brady Patriots dynasty is unquestionably the highest achievement in pro football ever. Mangini, Bill O'Brien, Matt Patricia.... Scott ****ing Pioli. They're the modern day version of the 1972 Dolphins in terms of smugness if my hypothetical is assumed to be true because Mahomes + Reid aren't enough of a force to prove otherwise by "only" having five straight AFCCG appearances and going 2 for 3 in SB appearances.

If we eliminate the bone head plays, we win the game. This performance will not be repeated. I’m not saying we will win it all. The odds are against us. But we definitely aren’t out of it. And I wouldn’t be surprised if we went to another Super Bowl. We can beat the ravens, bills and jags. I’m most worried about the fins and browns. The Browns pass rush is scary when they are on.

If that person writes the post as if it is some hot take that a seasoned Chiefs fan has to make and not something every one else things then absolutely.

Of course nobody who talks about how well the Chiefs are playing when they are playing well that would be stupid as hell...

Conversly? Someone who posted...

"Do yourself a favor and be honest with yourself. You see it, you feel it and you know it.

This team has no chance to lose in the playoffs. Don't try to tell me anything can happen, because it really doesn't. Yeah, a bad play here or there or maybe a loss against a great but even now that is unlikely."

Would be mocked here and for good reason.

I appreciate your optimism, but they keep repeating this type of performance.

I honestly can't believe you are not some NFL insider with these hot takes. Everyone who hangs out with you on Chiefsplanet that says you are awkward and creepy must have it wrong.
You have no one that hangs out with you. Don't project your lack of friends on me.

Plenty of us here in AZ all get together and continue to do so. All nice people.

The guy you are referencing is long gone and banned on CP. Go track him down and go hang with him. Maybe you can make a friend.

Won’t surprise me if they lose the first game and it won’t surprise me if they’re back in the Super Bowl. Are they going to average 35 ppg in the playoffs? Probably not. But with this defense, they can win 20-17 if they don’t fumble snaps and throw pick sixes.

Playoff Mahomes is focused and takes it up a notch, and this is the first time he’s had a defense that can hold a good offense under 20 points. It’s not hopeless.

He is one of the biggest, jealous losers on CP. No real opinion, just a nerd who likes to come into my threads to spew insults. He has nothing else. A giant tool with no viable use.

I had to laugh a bit at the final whistle thinking Mahomes has to go to the middle of the field and tell that other QB "good game"

My eyes tell me that this entire organization was prideful and put themselves on a pedestal. Every one of them. Mahomes, Kelce, Andy and Veach.

It only started with Veach and Andy thinking they could do last years plan again with Juju exiting and it would work. Kelce started getting on SNL and hasn't been as focused on football as he has been, Mahomes has gotten lazy and erratic and Andy can't fix simple problems. He's lost some of these guy in the locker room.

I almost want this team to get carpet bombed at home by the Bills in the playoffs so they have anger and urgency to play well like last year when they had something to prove.

But there's a clear deficiency of talent on offense. That's the biggest takeaway. They need to go full bore to fix that shit.

The offense needs to protect the ball better. Today is a game they win without the turnovers. Even with the other issues offensively. They need to learn how to be a defense first team (at least for the rest of 2023).

Discipline was key to the cheatriots long term success. Belichick would not stand for his players being dummies on the field and costing the team games.
All of our losses have been due to penalties and turning the ball over. The fire is there from the players. The self discipline is not.
I think they miss EB and his attention to detail. Nagy is bad and Embree is in over his head. Yes, the ultimate responsibility is Reid's, but the coaches he depends on are not getting it done. There is also a serious lack of talent on offense, which makes the problems worse.
