Seriously doubt we're in the running though. I could see him ending up in WAS.
Or Philly... this is the type of aggressive move Howie Roseman would absolutely make. They don't have a ton of free agents compared to teams like Washington. They'd replace Sweat, who is a FA in the process. They won't have many holes to fill otherwise in terms of starters, I think only Baun and Becton are the other starter FAs.

If he does go to Philly, that's already a good team with a good defense...

Yeah, if you made me put money on it, I’m saying Eagles lose Sunday and it pushes Roseman to make this move. Cap be damned long term.

Roseman is a helluva GM. They have absolute stars at every single level both offense and defense.

Folks on Reddit are saying that whatever team trades for him will need to renegotiate a new contract, similar to when Tryeek was traded… thoughts?

He will need a new contract too

So trade a haul and give him 120 million. Don’t see KC doing that

The ONLY reason I can think about that, at all, is if they were planning to pay Karlaftis.

If that’s the case, I can squint and see a scenario where Karlaftis is part of the trade package for Garrett. You pay Garrett 20 percent more than you were going to have to pay Karlaftis, and it costs you two draft picks (2025 1st and a conditional pick in 2026 that ranges from a 1st to a 3rd).

The Browns would get a player who is younger and can be part of their reset/rebuild. KC would get a defensive force multiplier to add to Jones.

You’d obviously be walking away from Trey Smith and Nick Bolton at this point.

And he's battling lower body injuries already, which Tyreek really wasn't.

I recall an ESPN article from October that suggested he was playing through some rough foot injuries. Here's the article: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ng-injury-feet

It's a no for me. I wanna win seven or eight, not just the next one.

From the ESPN article on Sept 20 re: injury to both his feet:

"We talk about [surgery after the season] but that's something that we'll talk about further down the line," Garrett said. "The issue itself is something that I'll probably have to deal with for however long I end up playing. So it's about managing that and playing through it."

Garrett also clarified that the ailment is an injury to both feet that can require pain management.

When asked if the injury will linger throughout the season, Garrett said: "I hope not. Hopefully, in the next couple weeks it will continue to get better until it's something that's not bothering me as consistently as it is."

The last time we traded for a pass rusher who had a pain-management injury to multiple extremities... we didn't get the same level of player as the one we thought we were getting.

He's gonna be 30 next offseason. So you have to ask, does he start breaking down or is he Reggie White.

Man I dont know Karlaftis is only 23 years old and is about to enter his prime. Never been injured. The best football of Garrett's career is likely behind him.

I could be convinced to trade draft picks that are lottery tickets. The thought of trading young, stud and proven players about to enter their prime? Players youve won Super Bowls with....No thanks.

He's likely headed to the NFC. If the Bills or somebody wants to throw in a bunch of picks and give him a new contract, let them. It's not what they need and might even prevent them from getting what they need.

He's not coming to KC. They aren't that team anymore. You trade resources like this to get over the hump. That's not the Chiefs.

It's just the age thing. If you knew he could be this level for the entirety of a contract, I'd be interested just in terms of adding a cornerstone type player.

But he's 30.

I'm always down for adding high level elite guys, but at some point you just can't
