Alshon Jeffries....Pharoah Cooper not bad pickups.

But your point is valid.....they lose a lot of the better players in the state to Clemson and other SEC schools.

It just depends how you want to look it it. Half empty, well it was just okay and USC has a bad D. Half full, Lock faired well for his first career start, dudes a freshman and the offense has a lot of raw and kinda bad players.
Ok, that's fair. But anyone who thought Pinkel was going to let Lock throw it all over the field hasn't been paying attention to Mizzou football for very long. Lock did just about as good as could be expected.

Throughout his tenure, Spurrier has done a remarkable job of keeping in state players.

That is the mentality here. To hell with the win...where is the deep ball? Where are the 9 point touchdowns to wide receivers? Other QBs passed for over 300. Lock sucks.

Backup qb, dt, dt, te, rb and we still get the win. The young guys are pretty good.

Maybe....but not that many have really panned out to be anything but 2nd tier guys. Most of their talent is from other states.

Quarles and Clowney....who else from SC (that grew up in SC) are the standouts?

Spurdog isn't a strong recruiter, just has a strong system in place.

That's the difference between National Champion at Florida Spurrier (Much easier recruiting even with the instate competition) and Spurdog at Souf Cack that has to plug a lot of 2 to 3 star guys into his system and hope for the best.

Completing 21 passes for just under 140 yards would get Alex Smith lynched here. It's a safe performance for Lock, but not exactly dazzling. When you weigh in the circumstances, it's a good performance.

Some people weigh it in and others just look at the stat line.

I think this game gives Gary the obvious and right answer, but this is Gary and we all know how he loves to be an attention whore by doing something different than the obvious right thing. He can't lose, if he goes back to MM and he ****s the MIZZOU season, GP says, "I'm loyal to my players and the development process." If he goes back to MM and he does OK GP says, "see, I told you." If he sticks with DL and things go badly he'll say, "I shouldn't have given into the pressure to play a kid who wasn't ready, I'll fix that." If he sticks with DL and he does fine he says. "I knew all along he was our future, needed time with the WR corps, and this should be a lesson to the rest of the team that you have to do the right things off the field or it could cost you your career."

It's good to be GP...

This is the year that the SEC is truly cannibalizing eachother and will probably be left out of playoffs.
