Disappointed in McCluster

Bla bla bla, he's a playmaker, he has two touchdowns already, whatever.

He has seven catches for 93 yards. 1/3 of that yardage came on one play. At least two of those are screen passes I believe.

That ****ing sucks.

This guy needs to be a threat as a WIDE RECEIVER. He hasnt made a single play down the field. I'm not even talking 20 yards. How about 10? How about coming off the line, putting your foot in the ground, getting open and giving Cassel a target?

I'm not willing to accept the idea that Cassel is so god awful he makes all our wide receivers look terrible.

McCluster hasn't done shit yet. And he was utter garbage in Indy.

Don't buy any of his ****ing t-shirts.

I have argued for 9 years with the drafturbators and have showed them 2nd round data over, and over, and over, and over

this board expects pro bowl caliber players in the 2nd round and it's simply unrealistic

you hope for a quality player

Dex was a quality player for the Chiefs. You can't even argue that. He wasn't great, but he was ok.

All this is is an attention grab. Clay decided to hate Dex from day 1 and now he's grasping at every straw to say, "see! see!"

...go look at what Clay turned this board into after the Sean Smith signing. Yep.

McCluster doesn't. But what he did become was a decent 3rd down receiver. The 2 could have easily complemented each other and having a reliable hands option was something the Chiefs sorely miss. You can tell by how quickly the Chiefs were trying to get Avant targets last year.
My guess is DAT's stats will pretty closely mirror McCluster's 5 years from now. Won't make him a busy anyone than dmc is. Just shows that gimmicky tweeners rarely amount to much.

Does anyone expect DAT to post more than maybe 700 yards receiving in a season? He'll be a complimentary player and nothing more. Just like dmc. Maybe a little more exciting to watch, but statistically little difference.

I've always hated these picks. They are luxury picks from a team that doesn't have the complete roster to justify a luxury pick.

They are 2 completely different players. And I disagree -- role players have value to teams who understand their role.

With DAT you have an excellent punt returner and a gadget option in the backfield that provides you some YAC speed. In McCluster, could easily pass as a third down back who primarily functions as a third down receiving option. I think it's insane the amount of money Tenn gave him. But with a smaller contract and this as his role, he's going to be a good role option.

There's difference between just another 2nd rounder and 36 overall.

There's probably a huge difference between 33 and 49 and the difference between 33 and 65 is HUGE.

I'm not talking about Dex the Titan. I'm talking about Dex the Chief. As a Chief, he was a quality player. His final year with the Chiefs I thought he made a ton of fantastic plays (Smith's first year). I'm very objective. I have no ill will against Dex. He was ok. Not memorable. Certainly nothing to be mad about, and certainly no one to even talk about at this point.

but it's Clay ... the least athletic person on this board who knows nothing about sports. But keep being Clay, and keep ruining football talk on the board. You're super awesome at that man. Congrats.

How many players in the the top of that 2nd round are better than McCluster? He's one of the better players there. So what are you complaining about?

if Dex was as quality as some of you claim then why didnt a WR depleted team like the Chiefs keep him on that cheap contract the Titans signed him for

ya know what the Chiefs rather spend that money on than McCluster? Joe Mays, Vance Walker and Jeff Poopnbach. That tells me all I need to know about McCluster being viewed as quality.

Quality players do more than he did here. Fact.

The only reason he ever did anything on KR was because our blocking units were so amazing.

no one thinks Dexter was fantastic. No one

he received a 2nd NFL contract

that is impressive any way you want to spin it, regardless of what anyone thinks

WHAT?!

He signed for peanuts.

I'm glad our #36 turned out to not be a total disaster of an NFL player. He's worthy of a roster spot! Yay!

people complain about Eric Fisher and Tyson Jackson but when you go look at the top 15 of those drafts ... well ... lol

it is what it is

the Chiefs have been total shit in very unlucky years when it comes to QB prospects

and I will bet anyone on this board that Derek Carr flames out within 3 years and Bridgewater is never anything better than, well, Alex Smith

I'm complaining that of any of the players we chose, we chose mcluster.

I'm glad you think he was a great pick though...

I guess I should accept whiffing instead if complaining?

I should be happy with getting mcluster****ed and not desire more from life

McCluster was great. If only we had him on our team now, perhaps we wouldn't be headed for a train wreck of a season which will lead to yet more suicides and still zero playoff wins
