That's a pretty good list.

The older I get, the more I appreciate classic rock, didn't listen to much of it growing up, but its about all I ever listen to now, and other than a couple handful of bands maybe, I look back and laugh at some of the bs I used to listen to in middle school/HS.

That and there is nothing good about today's music....absolutely nothing. Nobody has any actual musical/instrumental talent anymore with exception for a few. I listen to John Mayer a lot now...hate his chicky radio shit, but I listen to the Where the Light Is: Live in LA album almost daily and never get tired of it, dude's a master guitarist.

I'm gonna get slammed for this but my question is "Why does everybody love Def Leppard?" You would have never heard of them if not for Mutt Lange spending hours overdubbing and fabricating sounds in the studio the band could never pull off on their own. Like Nickelback, every song sounds pretty much the same to me.
Go ahead, blast away...

Didn't hate DL, but didn't see the big deal.

In HS, my assessment was a little skewed because it seemed like all the girls who are huge into DL were supremely skanky.

Their earliest stuff is actually not bad. They were a NWOBHM band before they were a hair band, ironically.

Because they’re fun, cheesy, over the top, and epic. Things Nickelback isn’t.

Loved their first two albums in high school and saw them on the "High 'n' Dry" tour (it was a kickass show). Once Pyromania hit, though, that was it. Dropped them like a hot rock. That was their left turn into hair metal.

I hope one of your few is Steven Wilson,if not I strongly recommend checking out his solo work and past Porcupine Tree work.

You need to stop listening to the radio, dude. There's a TON of great musical talent out there, it's just not on the radio. Schlock sells.

Nailed it.

Joe Bonamassa's newest is a great example IMO,his back-up female vocalists on this are outstanding.

Well see, there you go.

Love for a certain type of music, largely relates to childhood or young adulthood. I grew up with grunge and many of my favorites are from that time. I didn't add a love for some country, until my early 20's, when I moved out of hick-country and realized those songs spoke a lot of truth about that lifestyle.

Liking Disco more than grunge might be the dumbest thing you've ever said on here.........and you've said a lot.

And Def Leppard just might be the shittiest band to ever come out of that era of music. They're just trash.

Well, since I never said I liked either, but rather hated both, it could be argued that your misrepresentation of my statement is the dumbest thing you've ever said. But then again, it's got a lot of competition, doesn't it?

I don't care if you like grunge, or rap, or hip-hop, or whatever other shit passes as music these days. I don't. Musical taste is completely subjective. There are millions of people out there who do like Def Leppard. I couldn't care less that you aren't one of them. I'd wager that the members of Def Leppard don't give a shit, either.

I can’t stand Def Leppard.

Lol

Like, hear the first few notes of a song in the radio, and even my wife will change the station from the passenger seat . ...
