Eh I think the Browns will be the 2nd most talented team in the AFC. I also think the Ravens will be a very good team if Jackson developes even into just an average passer.

Jackson is eventually going to get hurt running and won't cut it as a passer.

Maybe this year forced the Chiefs hand but prior to that looking at their high round picks (Kpass & Speaks) it's clear they've thought about moving on from him. Still a pass rusher can land you some nice draft picks.
We need to franchise him this year and see if staying healthy is the new trend or if his health issues will prevent him from replicating 2018. If his back is indeed healed after surgery, he should continue to get better as he builds more and more core strength. He’s already said he would be ok getting the franchise tag.

We can’t pay him as if his current production is likely to be replicated over the course of the next 4-5 years. That’s literally too risky. His current 3 year pattern gives lots of concerns about the health of his back. Now, if he shows us a pattern of that being probable after another stellar year, pay the man what the market dictates. If we’re honest with ourselves, I think that’s the best option.

If his back issues are in the past, the guy has the work ethic and natural skill to continue to improve and if that’s the case, he’s our Dwight Freeney and it would be foolish to let him leave KC.

13 sacks
29 QB hits
7 forced fumbles

I’m sure he will impact every playoff game, too.

If he can stay healthy and continue to build core strength, he’s gonna have a stretch of really good years.

He’s one of the rare defenders that causes a lot of turnovers.

With Pat at QB, those turnovers help win big games.

You keep Ford on the tag for ‘19 and let the play of various guys determine what happens in 2020 and beyond.

If KC keeps Ford, adds a solid draft class with a few FA acquisitions sprinkled in, and makes defensive coaching changes that seem to be a given, they’re going to virtually be the SB favorite over about anyone else in 2019. It’s a great opportunity that could be blown with a move as simple as just getting rid of Ford.

Replace Sutton with the best DC we can possibly get.
Franchise Ford
June 1st Berry and sign Earl Thomas
Extend Hill and Jones as soon as the year ends.
Trade a 2 for Patrick Peterson
Re-sign Allen, Devey and Sherman to modest 2 year deals. Benjamin has a chance to be added to them.

Collect comp picks next year for

Conley
Nelson
Morse
Harris
Bailey

Draft pass rushers and secondary players THAT TAKE THE BALL AWAY.
Add more matchup problems for Mahomes to use.

Make 2019 the opportunity to go undefeated.

I’m just not keen on keeping guys that really blow up in contract season. Especially when they’ve been injury prone previously.

Tagging him is the most likely scenario and I doubt they’d trade him. But if someone offers you a first or a second and another pick, I’d probably do it.

You could take the money you save from the tag and go get Earl Thomas or whoever and draft a pass rusher with the pick.

Or take the pick you got and flip it for a Jalen ramsey

Trading Ford would be dumb as ****. That pass rush is a golden compliment to this offense. Plenty of funds and resources are available to upgrade the secondary. Morons...

I like Houston, but he is pushing 30. If he comes back on a team friendly deal to win a super bowl, good. If not, peace out.

I would like to see us add another viable TE option. Kelce may get dinged up for a game or two and I think that would really slow the Offense down. I also loved the Pats offense when they had Gronk and the Murderer.

Either he can take an outright paycut, or offer him an extension at maybe $13-14 million a year for 3 years. It drops his cap number by $7 million or so for 2019 and gives him some long term security. He still has value and is a good player, just not $20 million worthy. That amount would be reserved for a Mack or Donald type, and he isn't that anymore.
