They're not going to be denied a third Super Bowl in the next five years, at the most. The only question now is how close they can get to Brady & Bill. Minimum, Mahomes and Reid tie Montana's crew. They're too good, and too young.

People are way too rigid in this whole "3 in 5" thing. You have to look at it holistically. 3 Super Bowl appearances, 2 wins, 5 straight AFCCG, all at home, 3 wins. This is already a dynasty. |

I'm sure this has been said but I honestly don't think you can define a dynasty until its over. Once Reid retires maybe we can look back at his time with KC and see how it looks.
Mahomes could easily be part of multiple dynasties. |

Erase one Dee Ford lineup ****up and one ****ed up injured Oline at the end of the season and we could have been in 4 Super Bowls with 3-4 wins.

Unlike in the NBA, you cannot just bring the same players back and expect a repeat. The Chiefs only have a dozen players left from the last Super Bowl team. You have to keep making moves to stay ahead of the game. That might involve hurting some feelings and cutting or trading popular players, but that's how the Patriots maintained success so long.

It's hard to say that. Losing can be a big motivator. If the Chiefs win in 2018, are you sure they repeat in 2019? Do they still make the same moves in free agency and trades?

11-3 in the postseason.
ELEVEN WINS AND 3 LOSSES. 79% winning percentage in the playoffs. Every team is GOOD. That's just amazing. |

I’d say we moved our dynasty forward in a crucial way yesterday. Not just back to back super bowls, but we’ve officially distanced ourselves from drew Brees / Russell Wilson territory. We’ve proven we can win a Super Bowl while mahomes was “free” and after the new cap reality. So now we’re no longer being compared to an average dynasty. Now we spend the next few years comparing to the next level. Dynasties like SF and Dallas. And after that we set our sights on New England. |

In 30 years when people look back at the 20's decade pop culture, the Kansas City Chiefs will be right in the middle of it. Team of the 20's baby!

It's interesting hearing everyone's opinion.
I don't begrudge anyone for sticking to the "3 rings in 5 seasons" rule. That has seemed to be in place for quite some time. But I agree that I think I consider this a dynasty as is, and here's why I'm leaning that way: Quote:

Clearly we're different from near-dynasties like the early 70s Dolphins (they're close, especially with the perfect season, but they had a few seasons where they got kicked out of the Divisional Round or missed the playoffs entirely in their run) or 90s Bills (never won a SB). |
