Post Superbowl Mock

This is my first attempt at a mock this year.

Chiefs Picks

1. Eric Berry, Safety, Tennessee - Best player in the draft falls to us at 5.

2a. Terrance "Mount" Cody, NT, Alabama - 370 lbs will be in 350 range at combine. Slides to 2nd round. Just what the Chiefs need is a NT that eats blockers.

2b. Daryl Washington, ILB, TCU - Chiefs upgrade the speed at linebacker.

3. Lagarrette Blount, RB, Oregon - Teams with Charles for a good 1 2 punch.

4. Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan, A big, strong QB with a good, not great arm and more touch than Cassel will carry clipboard for a year then challenge for starter.

5a. Eric Olson, Center, ND, should start season at center

5b. Denario Alexander, WR, MU. Many have Barnes out of Bowling Green here lately, but I saw a lot more of Alexander play a lot more. He needs to work on routes, but he's reliable and is a big target.

5c. O'Brian Schofield, OLB Wisconsin - Schofield probably would've gone higher had he not been injured Senior bowl week. Schofield when healthy takes Vrabel's spot.

Mike Alstott did play as a feature back for a time in TB.

We are going to draft a talented backup RB and stick with the version of Gerhart we already have in Castile and/or Battle. God your so ****ing reeruned.

Richardson played RB here for us too. He was still a FB. We still brought in backup RB's even though we had Richardson. We have two Gerhart type FB's in Castile and Battle. We need another RB, not a bulldozer.

Shit we drafted Williams last year to be that type of guy. We need someone who can actually spell Charles, not just be a short yardage guy. If Charles gets hurt, we would be totally ****ed if Gerhart was the backup RB.

I'm sorry, but if you are making an attempt to compare how Tony Richardson and Mike Alstott were used, then maybe the n00b in this thread isn't the dumbass.

Mike Alstott flirted with or went over 1000 combined rushing/receiving yards multiple times, had a 10 TD rushing season, had 1300+ carries and was a major part of Tampa's offense. He wasn't a traditional fullback at all.

If Toby Gerhartt ends up being Mike Alstott, then that would be unbelievable production out of a 5th round pick.

Again, maybe Blount ends up being a better pro. Who the **** knows? Certainly not you. You went overboard trying to do your best 'Hamas' impersonation. You don't need to be a dick to be a solid poster.

Your going to be in for a big surprise if you think Gerhart is going to be a receiving threat or any kind of threat anywhere besides up the middle in short yardage situations.

The vast majority of Gerharts production came from bouncing off players and breaking through arm tackles. Thats not going to happen to him in the NFL, he will get stuffed. Especially in this offense.

.

Isn't that how Jerome Bettis made a living. Also Brandon Jacobs makes a good living now doing that.

Yeah...no speed, no moves...the guy has nothing. Especially for a 6'3", 245 lbs. beast. I've never seen a worse running back that had zero skills. Guy ****ing sucks. He'll never make it in the NFL. /RustShack

Im not sure if saccopoo was on my side or not with the Gerhart pick or not with what he posted. But watching the highlight video he had, made it look like Gerhart is a legitimate pick!! I should have put a video on here days ago!!

I'm on your side. Gerhart is legit. The guy is fast, mobile and carries people on his way downfield. If he's there at the third round, the Chief's should seriously look at him as a legitimate pick.

He's John Riggins crossed with Jerome Bettis.

That's got to suck...(insert massive sarcasm)

MOCK DRAFT WITH REAL RESULTS

1. Eric Berry-Safety-Tennessee- Fits our biggest need on Defense and is compared to Ed Reed. If needed could play either safety spot.

2a. Cam Thomas-NT-North Carolina- Fills a void at NT but also plays at 335 which will make him an every down NT. "Mount" Cody will only be a 2 down NT at 360.

Now that gives us 2 defensive players that fill HUGE needs for us.
Now comes time to help out the offense.

2b. Brandon LaFell-WR-LSU- Big and fast. Could easily challenge Bowe for the #1 spot in 2 or 3 years.

3. Jordan Shipley-WR-Texas- If he is compared to Wes Welker then he is good enough for me as a 3rd round pick. Plus he has KR/PR ability. That would give us 3 young receivers with great potential.

4. Eric Olsen-C-Notre Dame- Yes he played at Notre Dame who finished 6-6 but thats why he could be a good fit. Charlie Weis knows him and what he can do.

Now thats 5 players that will start or could possibly start\battle for a starting spot before the pre-season or in the pre-season.

5a. Toby Gerhart-Stanford-RB\Montario Hardesty-Tennessee-RB- Gerhart is the bruiser that could give Charles a breather and block on 3rd and long but Montario who is slightly lighter in weight could also give Charles a breather but be a 3rd down receiver at RB. Pick your poison.

5b. Demaryius Thomas-WR-Georgia Tech- Big guy who will be a project. Great blocker coming out of GT. Also a big receiver in the red zone.

5c. Sean Canfield-QB-Oregon State- Scott Pioli grabs another late round QB to develop under Weis.

Everyone thinks the defense was our biggest disappointment last season and that is completely wrong. If our offense could have stayed on the field for more than 5 minutes at a time our defense wouldn’t have looked so bad. Yes our defense wasn’t very good but with the addition of Berry and Thomas our defense is 5 or 6 spots better in the NFL power rankings.
