they have had 10 point leads over new england and buffalo in the 4th quarter and blew both of those. we had a 28-7 lead against houston and, if not for a big pick-6 in overtime, the texans have another 85+ yard drive to win the game. against tampa and cincy we had two touchdown leads and they had the ball to win or tie the game at the end but couldnt. and we sat on the ball the entire 2nd half against the steelers

we let teams hangaround and have not put teams away all season. in the games afforementioned we have been outscored in the 4th quarter 59-3 so if the chiefs are down by two touchdowns in the 4th (which i expect them to be) dont count them out

dont get me wrong, the ravens are a very talented team but i expect this game to be very close. hopefully the chiefs comeback falls just short

KC 20

good luck and congrats on a great season. GO RAVENS!!!
The Chiefs are not a team that's built to play from behind. If they get that far behind, the game's pretty much over. I think you're underestimating the power of home field for KC. The Ravens will more than likely not score 24 pts in the game. They will also more than likely lose the game. But yeah, good luck to you too.

the ravens dont really get fazed on the road. they played atlanta down to the last minute and they're homefield strength is well documented. and while it should be close, lets be honest, the ravens are more likely to win the game

Go watch all 8 Chiefs home games. Then go watch their 8 road games. Then come back and tell me there's another team in the league that plays so much differently at home than on the road. There's not one. I don't care what the Ravens do on the road, they're at Arrowhead now. And no, I really honestly believe that the Chiefs will more than likely win the game.

Arrowhead's home field advantage won't do much to the Ravens. They have already played in tough places this season, and this is their 4th straight year in the playoffs. They are used to crowd noise. Sadly, Arrowhead's playoff noise has not been a factor in 17 years. It would be sweet if that changes on Sunday, but the Ravens are used to crowd noise. So, my guess is that the crowd noise as little effect on them.

That's not going to stop me from screaming my head off, though.

The Ravens are big, tough and experienced.

The Chiefs have speed that the Ravens will not be able to match.

After the game, the big takeaway from this game will be that the Chiefs won the game because of speed on defense and speedy playmakers on offense and special teams.

Actually I'll break it down a bit for you. Here's the 8 home games:

Week 1: SD scored 14 pts

Week 3: SF scored 10 pts, it was 31-3 with 5 seconds left in the game and they got their first TD as time expired

Week 7: Jax played well first half and got to our D 21-20 half time, 2nd half: shutout, 41-20 Chiefs final

Week 8: Buffalo scored 10 pts in 75 minutes (SEVENTY FIVE MINUTES - 1 WEEK AFTER THEY HAD 500 YARDS ON YOU GUYS)

Week 11: Arizona scored 13 pts, it was 31-6 with 1 second left, another first TD as time expires

Week 13: Denver doesn't score a TD, 10-6 Chiefs final

Week 16: 34-14 Chiefs, Tennessee really never got much going on offense

Week 17: Raiders scored 31 but a large chunk of that off of Cassel INTs, and I don't care what anyone says, the game really didn't matter and that does make a difference in this league

Bottom line: Our defense ****ing kicks ass at home, and your offense is not enough to make anyone think it's gonna make any difference. Even in the games where KC struggled on offense (Denver, BUF) the defense held on for dear life and won the game for us. This game matters more than any of those games, and this teams heart and attitude hasn't been questioned all year. If you think this is a freebie or that you're "definitely gonna come in and get up by 2 TDs and hopefully hold on" you might want to go look at yourself in the mirror and say LOL. Because that's not gonna happen.

You can say "Well our defense is way better than those teams you mentioned". First of all, no it's really not all that much better. Secondly, the Chiefs only scored 10 pts through 60 minutes of two of those games, so regardless of how the other defense played the Chiefs still didn't score pts. But they won both times. So get ready, because it's not gonna be easy.

Oh, and that one game that I said didn't matter: that was the only one we lost. So good luck homie.

On paper, the Ravens would beat us nearly every time. They are a fundamentally sound and tough team. Therefore, I believe they will win a close contest.

However, the Chiefs do have something going for them: A very sound and respected coaching staff. If they game plan this contest correctly and get their players to perform, get a lead early, extend that lead, get the crowd behind them, then the Chiefs can win.

I know teams and players don't like to read into the media, but I sure hope the staff and players are hearing the fact that nobody believes they will win and that they don't deserve to be in the playoffs- because this is precisely the sort of thing that will inspire and elevate a team to win at will.

On paper, I just don't see it happening. Ravens 17, Chiefs 10

It pains me to say it, but I just don't see the Chiefs winning this game. Should they win this game- WATCH OUT! Because they will have earned their stripes and really can be the dangerous team that others take for granted.

Gawd, I'd love to see them win this game...more than anything. I just don't have the confidence that they will.

The Patriot way was custom built to make all of the media haters eat a big shit-burger.

This Chiefs team is similar to the first Pats championship team. Our offense is better and their defense was better. Neither team turns/turned the ball over very much.

well, most people would argue otherwise. dont get me wrong, i would not be surprised at all if the chiefs won. but lets get real, you've played 1 team at home with a winning record this year.

That's not what I said. I don't think the Ravens defense is all that good as people make it out to be. Their safeties have sucked all year. The one thing I see to their advantage is the ability to POSSIBLY get to Cassel without blitzing as much. That would make for less 1 on 1 in the secondary and it's the reason I wanted the Jets. But that's not even for sure. Plus Baltimore is clearly beat up with multiple pro bowlers missing practices entirely and an injury list about 12 names long.

I said the defense isn't all that much better than some of the defenses we played, meaning that it's not a great defense (because I don't think there's a great D in the NFL this year at all) that's going to setup the Chiefs to fail on both sides of the ball by taking the offense off the field right away. The Bills and Broncos just happened to be the teams KC's offense struggled against at home. I didn't compare the Ravens defense to the Bills and Broncos, I'm not a complete moron.

My post was mainly focused on how awesome KC's defense has played at Arrowhead this year. They're matched up with Baltimore's offense, which is nothing special. That's the key. Although Baltimore's defense could potentially take control of the game (as could any of the other 30 defenses on any given sunday), I just don't see it happening.

But look at that rundown I gave you of the defense in the home games. Then look at our overall defensive stats. It's clearly a pretty damn big difference at home. Most of what you hear from analysts and even people on this board is gonna be based on the Chiefs overall, not just at home. And I think it's 2 separate situations (road and home), and I really think it's gonna be the deciding factor in this game. Which means the weekend after, if KC happens to be alive, I'm going to be playing my any given Sunday card. And I have the right to do that.

That has no relevance. The game is between the Chiefs and the Ravens.

What is relevant is the fact that the Ravens do not match up with the Chiefs speed.

Also relevant is that the Ravens think they have already won the game because of their "experience."

The Ravens are going to add to their playoff experience by learning what it is like to lose a game because of overconfidence and lack of matchup speed.

That's the big thing I took away from looking at their schedule... they can play with anyone, but seem to keep both teams in the game. They're 3-2 in road playoff games in the past couple of years, and completely dismantled NE in the first quarter in Foxboro last year, so while Arrowhead will be rocking and (I certainly hope) there will be a definite advantage, I don't expect them to curl into the fetal position on the sidelines.

I get a weird vibe between looking at the stats and reading what people on both sides are saying about the game... Ravens fans, at most, seem cautiously optimistic, even though their strength matches up well with the Chiefs' strength, and they won more games while playing a much tougher schedule. OTOH, it's not a terrible matchup for the Chiefs if they can get JC outside and maybe work the screen game... the Ravens are 3rd from the bottom in sacks, and like you said, they don't have a killer instinct.

I think it'll be close and fairly low-scoring... my heart says the Chiefs make enough plays to come out on top, but my brain says the Ravens will keep them at arms length and get it done.

Wow I just remembered some shit from a year ago+. Before the 2009 season I found some loser on YouTube (Prolly a 16 year old kid) who did Ravens predictions/reviews video's each week. He was beyond ****ing stupid. You could tell he just read articles and talked about keys to the game, etc. I really want to find him now to say hello Sunday night but I can't seem to find him. Anyone seen this clown before?
