Another beat down in McDonalds

Video Shows Woman Being Beaten At Baltimore Co. McDonald’s
April 22, 2011 4:41 PM

ROSEDALE, Md. (WJZ) — A shocking video that’s gone viral Friday shows a woman being brutally beaten by two other women inside a Baltimore County McDonald’s restaurant.

Baltimore County Police say the incident occurred April 18 around 8 p.m. in the McDonald’s on Kenwood Avenue.

The video, which was posted on LiveLeak.com and made its way to the lead story on the Drudge Report by early Friday afternoon, shows the victim being viciously assaulted.

At one point an older woman steps in to try and stop the two attackers, but to no avail. After being dragged across the restaurant, the victim begins bleeding from the mouth and having a seizure, causing spectators to warn the attackers to run before the cops arrive.

“She’s bleeding, yo. Her mouth bleeding, her mouth bleeding! She’s having a [expletive] seizure, yo! She’s having a seizure right now, she needs help right now! Ya’al better get the [expletive] out of here now!” the cameraman is heard saying.

Finally, the two suspects stop the assault and leave the restaurant.

Both suspects were later identified.

A 14 year-old female has been charged as a juvenile. Charges are pending against an 18-year-old female. The incident remains under investigation and the State’s Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case.

The victim was transported to Franklin Square Hospital for treatment. No additional information about the victim’s condition is available at this time.

McDonald’s released the following statement regarding the incident on their website:

“We are shocked by the video from a Baltimore franchised restaurant showing an assault. This incident is unacceptable, disturbing and troubling. McDonald’s strives to be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of customers and employees in our restaurants. We are working with the franchisee and the local authorities to investigate this matter.”

Stay with WJZ.COM for the latest on this developing story.

One of the neat quotes i remember is from Remember the Titans (pretty sure that's the one)

One of the players tells the coach that attitude reflects leadership.

We have a lack of quality leaders in all walks of life in this country that don't give a piss about legacy or preservation of the things that make this country great.

If the coach is a whiney excuse making pissant the team has no chance.

Makes me wonder to what degree it would have had to of gotten to, before some pussies would have stepped in to help??
Would have never gotten close to the point it did had just about any person I would call a friend have been there.

So, the solution is to mind your own business and pray that one day when your daughter is being kicked and punched by two girls into convolutions, your daughter is capable/strong enough to not die because no one stepped in to help her??

Granted, the beating the girl in this video took was nothing. But, what if it was a serious life threatening fight? Would you still just stand there and watch? Okay, so you would call the police, but what about the time it takes them to get there? Just let the person keep getting beaten? I doubt you would turn and walk away, unless you had children with you; so what would you do??

I may have typed it poorly, not using the correct terms, but the point still remains. If there are witness to a crime, that do nothing to prevent the crime, they can be charged with doing nothing.

So here's the 5 second rebuttal to that. The state will never charge you for not acting for 1 simple reason. While you may have a responsibility to your fellow man, the situation is completely unknown. You can jump into it and end up having all parties turn on you. Resulting in you getting beat, stabbed or shot. You have a greater responsibility to your own family and that involves protecting yourself in unknown situations.

Most corporations have policies preventing employees from getting involved for two reasons. First if the the employee gets hurt then the company is liable. Second if the criminal gets hurt by the employee then it is likely also the company that is liable. In short it's a losing proposition to company to get involved. Call the cops and let them handle it that's what they are for.

For instance walmart fired all the employees involved for taking a gun away from a shoplifter for violating company policy to not get involved. It might have worked out for them that time but it could end tragically in the future.

Same here, the two girls would never have made it to the girl the third time. There would have been no dragging her by her hair through the store.

What you are referring to is the duty to act. Rather than getting into this with you, let me just refer you to something, and leave it at that:

Could it be due to the fact these bystanders are employees that they fit into the loop hole? I'm not going to spend the time looking up facts and lawsuits, but hasn't it been pushed to where bystanders who do nothing in violent crimes such as rape and torture are charged with doing nothing?

Good Grief

all you want to do is argue. Businesses take risk with the cutbacks they have made. I'll repeat that i realize they have to for the bottom line profit margin that keeps things going. Retail has gone to shit since the cutbacks after 9/11. Security in places like Baltimore you would think would be under control.

Re read the quote you quoted or don't i could give a shit less. I don't have all the answers or maybe even any that make a lick of sense.

I just think it's pathetic how people act and treat each other. And i think it's magnified because of no jobs, the economy, the length of time of this recession/depression, and all the worries/anxieties that roll down hill off the parents backs on to the kids.

But i bet it gets 50k hits on youtube.

Just to continue the discussion, how many of you would be happy about some guy in drag hanging out in the girls bathroom checking out your 14 year old daughter?

I would. And I'd sue McD's for allowing it. The Manager could have forced EVERYONE out of the store after telling another employee to call the cops. Hell, you could take the beaten girl behind the counter for protection.

The manager was a gutless POS in my book...
