Which isn’t surprising considering Niang needs some time after a lot of time off.

Niang will be the starter at some point. It’s just a matter of when, not if.

It was irresponsible of us to try and make him play there quite frankly. There's no way anyone can convince me Rankin at LT and Remmers at RT would have been worse than the Remmers/Wylie combo in the Super Bowl.

Niang is obviously the RT for 2022-23, and they probably figure if he takes over at some point this year it's just icing on the cake.

Remmers is fine, particularly if Kyle Long regains his old form. Even if he doesn’t, we’re in a good spot at RT.

No clue where Niang is in his development right now, but given they’ve tried him at both right and left, I imagine he’s the swing tackle. And he’ll probably be the best swing guy we’ve had of the Reid era. Stephenson wasn’t anything to write home about, but at least he was a real tackle like Niang is. Glad we’re finally past the Jah Reid/Cameron Erving bullshit

That certainly would have minimized the disruption caused by Fish’s injury.

Especially if they had used a blocking TE to chip off LT more.

I have high hopes for Niang, but it would be disappointing if he doesn't beat out Remmers week 1.
