Clearly Kingsley is moving to guard, and the thought of having a huge LG next to Creed is appealing to me, and he looked good there vs Denver. That mean you have the interior three o-line spots locked down for a minimum of 3 years.

Taylor is gone next offseason and you are going to take that money and give it to Karloftis or McDuffie. As for the upcoming draft, prepare thyself for a LT in the first.Veach is going to want a cheap rookie for the next five years, and they contract would slot in perfectly with Creed, Smith, and Kingsley.
I don't think Kingsley at LG is clear at all.

Yup. Love Thuney but he has played 13 more games than the average G in the NFL with the Chiefs and 10 more with the Patriots due to playoff success, so while he’s going to be 33 next season, his body in NFL years is actually closer to 35 due to 23 more games. Add in a serious injury in 2023 and that wear and tear is gonna get worse.

The Chiefs have to get draft capital. You can’t expect Veach to be perfect bc nobody is. They need flexibility which is why they traded Dee Ford, LJ Sneed, Tyreek Hill and Joe Thuney.

Do not be surprised if Chris Jones is traded in 2 years when he is in Thuney’s position at the same age. That’s why they need to capitalize on this incredible DT class.

Prepare for your future. This is what NE did

If Kingsley becomes the Left tackle and Morris left guard this year Brett Veach should get blowies from all the deniers.

Only if they’re plus starters.

If that ends up happening and they’re even just average he’ll get raked over the coals.

Maybe I’m wishcasting, but does it seem like these three moves taken together add up?

1) Save $16 mil in cap space from Thuney
2) Save cap space by letting Reid walk
3) Move Kingsley to LG

=

Invest in a high priced LT? I don’t see what else the money could be used for other than maybe an edge rusher or a WR, but the latter seems out of step given we’ve got Worthy/Rice.

The chances of trading way up to get a LT in the draft are slim, so yes, a FA signing seems most likely.

Think the next course of action is sign Smith long term, if anything to get his cap number down this year.

Time to rebuild the left side of the O Line. A 4th in 2026 doesn't seem great but it is draft capital. Something that could be packaged in a trade for a player or to move up in the draft for a player. What's Breach's next move?

He’ll be in the ring of honor. I’m at work, how many years was Joe here? He’s a warrior, arguably one of the most important pieces to this dynasty. Gonna miss you big guy, hope he plays at an all pro level next year.

The only way I’ll be disappointed in this is if Caliendo is the starter.

I just can’t see that happening though. I figure Veach would make a move for another guard or draft one if that is the plan.

Kingsley is my hope. Get immediate value out of that pick with a chance to develop into a tackle long term.

Tells me they're signing Robinson.

Thuney could've been a big help if you're breaking in a new or inexperienced LT. But you can't have a green LT AND LG. And they know that.

There's only one fairly reliable LT on the market.

They're gonna sign Robinson.

I don't see Veach getting into a bidding war with NE when they have $125M in cap space.

I really think this is gonna be another signing/trade out of nowhere - someone we haven't even been considering.

Could be.

They're signing a veteran LT they can reasonably rely on.
