Found out today that I've caught the cancer.
One of the boobs. Thank goodness for mammograms. Caught it early. It's an aggressive type, but it's super tiny and still non-invasive (hasn't broke through and touched any tissue). Hopefully, I'll find out tomorrow when my surgery is to remove it. Then I'll get zapped with some radiation and hopefully be rid of it.

Positive vibes appreciated.

5/22/2025 EDIT: Surgery in just over a week! Finally reached my max out of pocket for the year. It's so nice to now see $0.00 due on the estimates I'm getting for next week. So far, the total processed through insurance comes to $20,756.00. My estimates for having my markers put in and having my lumpectomy next week total $27,402.40. This stupid cancer has now totaled over $48,000.00, and that's just getting through surgery. All of the radiation and highly probably hormone therapy start after that. Thank goodness for insurance!

OP edit. A week from tomorrow, and then I'll get to find out what my after-surgery treatment will look like. Not nervous about the surgery at all. I mean, I've had an entire gall bladder removed, so a 4cm diameter of boob tissue should be a breeze...lol. I'm just anxious about finding out what the treatment(s) will be.

Also, I found out that I carry a type of mutated gene that heightens my risk of getting certain cancers (which I got) and slightly elevates recurrence or development elsewhere. I get to have my boobs smashed every six months indefinitely instead of being able to go back to annually. I may also have to have a colonoscopy done every five years instead of every seven to ten years. I'd rather have weekly mammograms than go through that shit again (literally).

Are you sure it is a 4 cm radius? Or was that a typo? That makes it bigger than a baseball.

Have you though about just removing them both completely ?

Prayers your way luv! So sorry this happened to you, but glad you caught it early. My wife went through the exact same thing a few years ago. She went through surgery, treatments and has been cancer free since. You can do this!

I have, but neither my husband nor I are ready to let them go...lol. Seriously, I would rather stick with the lumpectomy. If I end up having to do more later, I will. I might feel different if I were a little older, but I'm good with the current plan for now.
