Of course, if the decision is between RT and WR, you want the RT.

But if the only guy that's really available is OBJ, are you going to turn that down just because he's not an OT or DE?
I don’t want the team to be screwed with high cap hits on an egomaniac with injury problems. The team has had its fair share of bad contracts lately with Sammy Watkins, Frank Clark, Eric Berry, Justin Houston, & Anthony Hitchens.

He'd assuredly be signing a 1 year deal. It's a non issue.

And OBJ has never been a bad locker room guy.

And lastly, i want my DB's and WR's to be egomaniacs. It's a prereq for the job imo.

It also makes a HUGE difference that there wouldn’t be any draft capital lost either.

I don't get the thought process of not trying to improve an obvious need just because it's not the biggest need. If the team feels OBJ would have a bigger impact than Suh, or if he's just more affordable than any possible RT or pass rusher, I'd say get better anywhere you feasibly can for the rest of this year.

Tyreek Hill wanted to say he was the top paid. He chose money and the Florida shores over KC.

The Chiefs offered him a good contract that would have set him and his family for life. Once again, perfectly fine and he was well within his right to take the money and I'll still thank him for the SB but gotta call it for what it is.
Kelce was the highest paid tight end when he signed his contract though...

And you saying Hill did it to himself...are you saying that he did break his son's arm? Cause that's what allowed us to pay him way below market value on his last contract.

Or if the Chiefs want to include Hardman to free up cap space:

Panthers Get:
1st Round Pick
2nd Round Pick
7th Round Pick

Chiefs Get:

I guess my point is, tanking teams don't want fringe replacement level players. They value draft picks to rebuild. If a team is tanking and have a roster need, they will just activate a player from the practice squad who at least already knows their system. Hardman doesn't add value to a tanking team mid-season.
Denise is that you?

Idk, maybe I'm not looking at the season correctly bit I still feel this is our "down" year before we come back firing the next few seasons.

Unless it makes sense and is an obvious need, I don't see the need for a splash signing.

We need a playmaker. Someone the defense has to account for every play. Right now we don't. That's why teams are playing us straight up man when they would have never dared before.

My issue with WR's is Reid's system isn't the easiest to learn and I'm not sure he'd be worth the roster spot for this season. Has there ever been a mid-season WR acquisition that has worked out for the Chiefs or Eagles under Reid?

We must not look at the offense the same way. There are several receivers on the roster, that's true. But there are no guys that can consistently get open and make contested catches on this roster. I believe on Mahomes 1st INT against Buffalo, a better receiver comes down with that ball. 80% OBJ is an upgrade over 100% MVS.

I would not call it “way below market value” given the scandal. Highest paid receiver was around $20M per year at the time. They gave him $18M per year, which seemed pretty damn generous under the circumstances.
