Steph Curry, Steve Nash, Kawhi Leonard are the first 3 that come to mind at the pro level

A lot of players tweak their shooting mechanics in the NBA. The question is could someone as unorthodox as Lonzo change his shooting mechanics to the point where he's productive from the perimeter.

Not sure there is a reason why he couldn't.

Kawhi is the only one of those guys that actually achieved what you're saying. The other two were good shooters previously.

It's really rare a guy becomes a good shooter once they hit the league, if it's a mechanical issue. Too hard to be repeatable from that position and it's hard to change muscle memory.

He can improve somewhat, but I don't know that he could or will ever be a good shooter

I'm not arguing that it's difficult to change, but it isn't impossible. It's something that's definitely within his power.

In the maelstrom of high level competition, muscle memory always wins. Citing guys that had to tweak their form doesn't apply here.

Ball needs to overhaul the whole damn thing, all the way down to his feet and how he loads up. His shooting form is a goddamn mess and it will take YEARS to fix it, presuming they even try.

If they don't, his ceiling is simply a pretty good player. Frankly, it's absurd to me that LA allowed him to enter the league with that piece of shit. He should have done nothing but shoot jumpers all summer. No team practices - nothing. He shoots 1500 jumpers a day until he doesn't look like a goddamn middle schooler trying to shoot a ball that's too heavy for him. Then you let him into the locker room.
