So are the Chiefs.
And if you're to ask me what's more likely, the Chiefs sitting at 31 and taking w/e OL falls to them or trading for Brown, i'd wager they'd trade for Brown. I STILL think that's the move. And if it's not, it speaks volumes on what they think of Niang. I just can't fathom the Chiefs willingly sitting on their hands and just going, "hurpa derp, we'll just take the best OL that falls to us". That's just not how they've ever operated.

Maybe Niang IS the guy....Maybe he's the next great 3rd round pick.

This is pretty much me at the moment. I think they pick the best value in the first round (more than likely a WR or DE IMO). Then they trade up to obtain one of the second tier OTs in the second round. That's a more likely scenario than taking a second tier OT at 31 or giving up the farm to move up in the first.

We can discuss possible compensation and whatnot, but ultimately it boils down to what teams are offering because his value in this specific market may we’ll be far less than most years both in draft compensation as well as contract terms. |

If the guy they want is Darrisaw or Jenkins and they have to trade in front of the Bears and Colts, then we're talking about potentially trading more picks than it might take for Brown. There's ZERO reason to trade up for a tackle in this draft. None whatsoever. It would just be dumb and wasteful to do so. |
