Anybody ever book a place through Airbnb?
Trying to book a place but it's a little complicated. They want me to send credit card statement to verify my use of my card. Is this legit?

One reason is to save money, but there's other reasons. The experiences that I've had have all been positive. The people hosting an AirBNB are generally accommodating, friendly, and will give you better advice on things to do in the area that you are traveling to than any hotel clerk. Plus, you are giving money to local people that are trying to make ends meet instead of to some faceless corporate hotel chain.

More unique places, you feel more like you are in the local culture rather than in a bubble, options for places that house more than 4 comfortably...

Some of the places that we stay, there are no hotels around at all. I've stayed in a small village in Costa Rica. a remote cabin outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico and another cabin near the Buffalo River... hotels wouldn't have been available at any of those areas.

I was just googling places to stay in the area i'm traveling to and this nice lodge is right where I'm going. It just happened to be listed with Airbnb. Fortunately the same place was on VRBO and that put me in touch with the owner who gave me a sweet deal on the price. The trip is booked!

Last Airbnb I stayed at was nice! The people who rented it took us to a pool party the first evening we were there and fed us a few drinks. Nice people and the others places I've stayed have been great as well.

Never had to do the CC statement thing.

The last time I went to Disney I stayed at a nice home 5 minutes from Animal Kingdom for 35 dollars. Orlando has a ton of AirBNB hosts.
