In all the celebration about Mahomes/Kelce let’s not forget about Watkins “quiet” contributions on Sunday. A 48 yard catch and run in the first drive of the 3rd quarter to put us deep in Texans territory and set up the first Williams TD run. A14 yard jet sweep run to help set up Damian Williams second TD run and a 28 yard 4th quarter reception that set up the 8 yard TD pass to Bell. Watkins is dangerous and must be accounted for in the field, anytime he can help get chunks of yards to move the offense up and down the field is a good days work

I think so too. It makes sense on paper to push his salary to 3 years because he’s not going to get it. And his numbers aren’t great with the best guy in the league.

Then I remember Albert Wilson just got paid 8M last year.

If he’s here at 7 per I’m ok with it. I think he can do better but if it were me I’d stay here for 7 per.

And King is right I had forgotten about all the incoming draftable WR talent. I think it would be in Sammy's best interest to get a new deal done here. If they can, I'd be all for it.

Probably not but I would be if I were him. I like the idea of pushing his salary over 3 years with a little bit of new money to make it like 7M per most of it guranteed. He can probably get more somewhere else but this is the better spot.

He won’t take it. Someone will offer more and he’ll go.

But I think it would be a mutually beneficial, fairly low risk position for both parties.
