Yeah I like Ben Bloom, too.

Those guys are the new defensive future of the NFL; we need a bright young defensive mind, not some retread with ties to the 'old ways'.

This is the MOST important thing, I think.

The old guys just walk around pissed off and grumbling because the old ways don't work anymore.

Well, the rules changes make that the case. Stop bitching and figure out how to work with it. You're not going to get change from the same old thinking. I really like how the Cowboys LB'ers play. That's Ben Bloom. Plus, Hitchens looked good last year under Bloom's tutelage. As a former pass rush specialist/instructor, he moved to LB coach and it's more of a coverage scheme for them. And he's excelled there, too. I think he'd be a great guy to get the most out of what talent we have and help develop the 'backers for coverage and your Speaks, Nnadi, Kpass guys as pass rushers.

Funny how the Vikes fired their OC, and they are running rough shod over Miami today.

Also-on the Bloom subject-

WHAT IF the 4-3 vs. 3-4 argument could be completely null and void? What if you could line up in either or neither depending on what you wanted to do on any given play? What if they're just personnel groupings like any other, nickel or dime? Bloom has worked in both. I like that thought.

He'd probably be great if you could still play bump and run, tight man and mug guys at the line like you could when he played.

I don't think any of the defensive coaches have done a good job of adjusting to the modern game.

Bills cut Gaines in early November. I think he was the most penalized corner in the league at the time.

Gaines was then claimed by........drum roll......

Dorsey and the Browns. Time is a flat turd circle.

And it wouldn't cost that much to maintain a defense at that level either. Andy's never had it so good in that regard, so he needs to let go of the last vestiges of losing ways and become a complete winner if the Chiefs are ever going to do anything of note.
And that means stepping the accountability level up several notches and letting go of things that don't work.

Watching Philly kick the crap out of the Rams in LA just reinforces what a piece of shit the Bob Sutton style defense is.

I like the Bowles idea a lot and think it makes the most sense given his history with Andy.

Does Reid watch other games? Can he not see our defense is garbage compared to other teams?

The domain firebobsutton.com is taken. Did one of you buy it or did the chiefs squat on it to keep it from becoming a thing?
