However it makes you say hmmmm when Nagy had same role and got hired.

maybe previous coordinators have something to do with it too. Nagy came in hot year one, pederson won a super bowl year two but wentz hasnt really made the jump expected since. given both situations have plenty of other variables, but maybe thats something to do with it.

I don't understand this narrative being pushed about Bienemy and not wanting to hire a black head coach. First, who knows if Bienemy is being very selective and would have accepted any of those jobs? And how do owners and GMs have no problem with their teams being full of black players and assistant coaches yet somehow are so prejudice toward minorities that they refuse to hire a black head coach? That just doesn't make sense to me.

It's just something else to get casuals outraged about, Ron Rivera is a minority and he got hired in like 5 seconds.

Truthfully, it's because the NFL is a retread league and there are a lot of retread white coaches. Also lets be real Bienemy is an OC on a team where he doesn't call plays, some teams may have an issue with that.

Yeah, that was an incorrect statement. Andy Reid has said that EB (and Pederson and Nagy before him) is part of putting together the game plan.

I'm not that outraged about the minority thing. I'm just tired of the obsession with bellichick. Any argument for bieniemy also applies to toub.

Hard to believe, but over 20 coaches in the NFL came from an extension of the holmgren or parcells tree. It's hard to believe the league has that little imagination. But yeah, if I'm picking between the true, no doubt I'm taking Reid's tree over bellichicks.

The one exception is bill Obrien. He's done pretty good, but his tree has been really solid so far. Take his tree away and bellichicks is pretty much a zero.
