Trent Green and end of season

I see the season ending calamity approaching.

Roaf retires, Shields retires. ........

Peterson has to be fired.

Even though I like Trent Green and think he's the best qb in years , I feel he can't take this team over the top of the hill. He just isn't athletic enough now. Every team now has a guy that can scramble and get 5-10 yards. What if Trent could do that. Then this team might have had a legit shot beating the Chargers on short yardage plays even with a shitty RTackle.
