*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

That’s a ****ing classic.

Mahomes current season stats projection:

4,856 yards, 43 touchdowns, 3 interceptions

2011 Rodgers: 4,643 yards, 45 touchdowns, 6 interceptions
2004 Peyton Manning: 4,557 yards, 49 touchdowns, 10 interceptions

This season by Mahomes is right there with some of the greatest seasons ever.

If those are the 2 best no doubt Mahomes pace will be the best all time. Our RBs got 3 TDS Sunday. We are still scoring even when Pat doesn’t throw 5 TDS and the non turnovers are additional points. Heck Tom had as many picks last night as Pats entire season.

TL;DR Mahomes and Jordan comparisons are quite appropriate even at this early stage of Mahomes’ career.

At a glance, it looks comparable but diving deeper I don't think it holds up quite as well. Both Rodgers and Manning in those years ended up with about 500 attempts, whereas Mahomes will likely wrap this season up with closer to 600 attempts. The other two were insanely efficient on a per throw basis.

Mahomes' INT% could feasibly narrow that gap, though. Manning in '04 threw an INT every 50 attempts and Rodgers in '11 threw one every 84 attempts. Mahomes is currently throwing an INT once every 187 attempts lol
