I didn't say anything about Sony.

Digital media is a slippery slope, especially when it comes to media with proprietary formats, like Xbox Live (or Sony PSN) games.

Who the hell has "given up" on the new Kinect? It's my favorite part of the console, and I almost certainly wouldn't have one without it. Many games on the console at least use the Kinect, and there are more coming out that are based on it entirely. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's a failure.

You made your statement in the midst of an argument pitting PS+ against Xbox Live, so one could understand where a comparison was being implied. I don't disagree with your point about digital media on consoles, though. I have much more confidence in the digital things I own on my PC than I do on my console.

It sounds like you do have something against Microsoft. Bad launch PR is the reason you're not buying an Xbox? Really?

My point was being misconstrued. I was referring to the Sony Home being a failure, not Xbox Kinnect. Too early to tell on that.

If your PS+ stays paid up each year, you keep every game you downloaded. It's now my second year on PS+ and I have downloaded a shitload of great games: Infamous 2, Uncharted 3, Saints Row III, Payday 2, Ratchet & Clank, Outlast, Resogun, etc. And there are other titles like Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands 2 that I already had.

So if you don't renew you lose the games?

If you let it lapse, then you do not have access to the games, but once you renew/rejoin again, you get the access back.

I have the XBone, and I still wish I had more games available. I feel like I did when I bought the XBOX360 and PS3 when they first released... bored. I do however really like all the extra feature of the XBone now though. Cant speak to the PS4 though as I don't have mine yet.

Ahhh, I see now. Seems to be bit of an odd way to handle it, but wouldn't cause me any issues.

Whats odd about it? Its the most effective way to get people to keep their membership active. Of course now membership is required to play online games that are not free to play but we all knew that was coming eventually.

Point is, they got a cheapskate like me to see value in a service I saw no value in on the xbox. But the real kicker is the fact you don't have to have every player in your household be a member just to play online.

So. The NSA DID plan on using the XBOX ONE to spy on users. Heh...

Guess it's not clear if they actually dropped those plans or not...

Maybe odd isn't the right word. From the sounds of it, the games are "free", but only if you maintain paying for a PS+ acct. Basically, the "free" games are behind a paywall. So, if you stop paying for a PS+ acct, they take the "free" games away. Basically, you are renting the games they give. Which is fine, I don't have any issue with it because like I've said a hundred times, stuff that requires an Gold level membership won't affect me in the slightest because I'll have it.

The only thing I've seen you complain about Live was that you saw no value in it because you had to pay for each individual acct. I'm not sure I've seen you complain about the actual content of Live other than saying Xbox is only giving old games nobody wants - which is simply an opinion on value. You say there is no value in the old games, I say that the old games that I've downloaded over the past 8-10 months have been a blast to play and have more than made up for the $3/month I spend on Live.
