Where would you rate our safeties?
We’ve come a long way from last season at safety.
Last Sunday was the most complete game we’ve seen from the safety position as a whole this season. I would argue that it’s one of the most complete games we’ve seen as a whole from that position in years. Here’s some data:
As a starting group (HB/ Thornhill), where would you rate them in comparison to other starting duos? Top 10 for sure right? Probably top 5. Could you make a case for best in the league? I think you could make a case |

I was thinking about this myself. Last year, arguably the worst group in the defense was the safeties. This year it's a strength. If they can fix the linebackers this off-season as well as they did safeties last off-season, then this defense is going to be pretty good.

Much like the whole secondary they are playing very well right now. Think they are comfortable in the scheme and communication is great - just see the Thornhill pick 6. I've been impressed with Claiborne too. He's solid and you dont hear much from him (always a good thing). Hopefully his injury doesn't stop him from suiting up this week.

only issue is they are both a bit more suited to coverage...honey badger tries to be an enforcer but he knows he can't throw his body around too much
i'd say probably 8-12 range overall

Sorenson has made a dramatic change to this defense by covering RBs

One of my favorite position groups. The secondary has vastly improved. CB's seem to be getting better with improved safety play. Surprise. Fuller should be getting more snaps as time goes on. Hope he returns to form. As others have said, the LBs need to improve down the stretch.

Top 5 in the game and arguably the biggest reason for our improved CB play. They make life a LOT easier for our CBs, especially since the CBs trust them to be where they're supposed to be.

They've looked great against Philip Rivers' corpse and a pussy QB who wears makeup and cried on from being sacked too hard. Let's not go sucking each other's dicks just yet.

Tyrann is a heck of a player and Juan is following in his steps. We've seen this team grow up a lot from preseason to now. Communication is the biggest difference. Now they're playing as a unit and not as a group of out of step individuals. Their play allows our corners to play with a higher level of confidence as well.
Our safeties are the best tight now. |
