Is it time to replace Arrowhead with a dome?

The cold, crappy Dec/Jan. KC weather doesn't appear to provide any real home field advantage anymore.

At least the fans wouldn't be so miserable in a nice climate controlled facility. No more thousands of no shows or leaving at halftime on bad weather days.

And I TOTALLY agree that the K needs to move downtown! It's nice, but it's street address is just wrong. But hey, that's just me...

As for where else Arrowhead could go, there would appear to be tons of land up near the airport - perhaps far enough away to be free of JACO politics. Then there's always JOCO; they always seem to be willing to get Topeka to do what JACO can't get Jefferson City to do. Well, Jefferson City will hook-up one of its counties, as long as it's St. Louis, but Topeka doesn't care about that pesky fact.

So it sure seems like simply putting a rolling roof that can go over both Arrowhead or the K might be the middle ground for all interested parties.
Platte County isnt going to pay taxes to fund a stadium. It wasnt 10 years ago it was one of the highest taxed counties with the fewest paved roads.

Welllll he kinda did look like crap in Detroit, his first dome game as a pro. Terry Bradshaw said the artificial light in a dome can do funny things to the QB and receivers. That said, Patrick had some dome games in college where he kicked ass. But that Detroit game was ugly as can be.

I'm pretty sure the snow also made Denver play predominantly zone defense, which made it even easier for him.
Let me ask you this:

The Chiefs are in the AFC Championship Game in Arrowhead. The temp is below 30, and it's snowing. The game is close, and the Chiefs need a TD on the last drive of the game.

It's 4th and 10, and the opposing defense blitzes, and Mahomes throws short because that's all he had time to do. Hill catches the ball, and it looks like all he has to do is turn up field and not only will he get the first down, but he will likely score the game winning TD.

But, because Hill is so fast, he cuts too sharply, and slips in the snow a yard short of the 1st down. Game over.

Are you gonna say, at least we played in the elements, the way real football is played. Or are you going to be pissed off that we lost the chance to win a SB because it snowed, and made the field less than ideal?

Has this scenario ever occurred in a conference championship game? Plenty of them have been played outside. I can’t recall one that played out like this. Even if it played out exactly how you describe, the narrative would not be “if only we played indoors” it would be “why the **** did we get into a position against a team we were favored over, to need a desperation drive to make the Super Bowl?”

This is so ****ing stupid !!

Let me ask you this:

What if God was one of us?

What if we dominate because Patrick Mahomes II loves playing in the snow and we score and teams can't move the ball on us and we ****ing GOD DAMN WIN THE MOTHER ****ING GAME?

What IF?

What if we're the ones that benefit from the slipping receiver because we're on the other side of that? Or what if we had the dome and the receiver didn't slip...then we'd be thinking "oh man, wish we'd have never put that dome up. Then maybe he would have slipped and we'd have won!"

Historically, snow favors the passing offense, not the defense. So long as we have a potent passing offense, we'd rather play in the snow.

Wind and rain is a different story.

I think it would be more effective for KC taxpayers to just divert 25mm to a Native American group to lift the curse, no? I feel like that's the going rate for curse-breaking these days? Or what have you found, SDH, in your surveys of the land of make believe?

Mahomes apparently doesn't give a shit if it's snowing. He claims he likes it. He's used to the wind from playing in Lubbock and now at Arrowhead.

We've seen two kind of extreme winter stormy-type games from Mahomes. The Colts playoff game and now this past one against the Donks. And he was simply brilliant in both of them.

As this team is currently built with this QB and this system, we're I think actually at an ADVANTAGE in the elements, believe it or not.
I’m not sure that’s right. I think if a bigger opponent that played physical could come in and the have the advantage because it would be harder for the OL to exercise leverage in compromised stability and could mitigate some of the explosiveness we have at the skill positions and DL.

I mean we were going to crush Donk anyway (it makes me supremely happy to type that sentence). Would we have had the same outcome against some assholes that don’t play so soft?

This thread is pure comedy...

Clark,

Just get a roof and be done with it... Let 70K screaming farmers have the benefit of a roof that designed to reflect sound down to the field. Double-down on fan noise affecting the opposing offense in 100% of the games that we choose to roll the sound-reflector over the field...

Re-channel the Missouri River to accommodate a downtown stadium for the Chiefs.

Holy shite, that might be the dumbest thing ever posted on ChiefsPlanet.

Meh, some of us go to 2-3 games a year, that's enough to have an opinion in my opinion.

**** that shit.

Just as likely, Tyreek cuts up field and the defender falls down. You can go a million ways with hypothetical crap.
