Arrowhead not yet sold out for a playoff game. Dirt cheap tickets available.

I know we have won 4 playoff games since we won the Super Bowl in 1969. 48 long years. Lost 5 straight home playoff games.

All that being said, what's the deal? Tennesse isn't a great team. Should be a good day at Arrowhead.

Locals give me the 411, what's up with the fans. Why the lack of interest?

When/if the organization ever presents the city with a team that is a legitimate contender, the rabidness seen in the 1990s and more recently for the Royals will be back in an instant. But most people know the soup is the same this year as it was last year and the year before that and the year before that.

That's what happens when you lose in the playoffs for 50 years. Nobody trust this team will win even at home.

This is the most likely reason. Just not a very exciting draw even though it's a playoff game. The Titans? Blech.

I think we beat them handily, but I'll have just as good of a time at a watch party on Saturday as I would at the stadium, with 1/20th the hassle.

If this was a more exciting match-up, or if this were Pat's first playoff game, that place would be rocking. As it stands, I don't blame folks that want to stay home.

Maybe we'll host the AFCCG!!

The NFL really is a fantastic TV product. I hadn't been to a game in years despite holding season tickets about 5 years ago, and I went to the Chargers game. Beautiful day in KC. Perfect weather, had a really awesome tailgate. Got inside and the place was pretty fun, but as far as actually watching the game and enjoying it from play to play, there's just no comparison to the TV product. I'm glad I was there and I had a very good time, but without a bigger draw than Alex and Andy battling the bumbling Tits, I'll stay in again.

This is it for me. I flew in for a few games last year, including the Pitt playoff game.

This year, I was excited early, but that 6 game skid killed a lot of my enthusiasm. A real contender might drop a game or 2 they should win, but not that many in a row to some bad teams.

I wish the AFC was more like the NFC where any good team has a chance in any given year. But the AFC reality is that there is NE, Pitt, and previously whatever team had Manning. Anyone else needs a lot of luck.

Sure, there's an outside chance the Chiefs could get lucky and beat one or both on the road, but this isn't like the 90s where you felt they were a real contender on par with the other best teams.

Just looked it up, and the AFC superbowl participants since 2004 are:

Patriots
Patriots
Steelers
Manning Colts
Patriots
Steelers
Manning Colts
Steelers
Patriots
Ravens
Manning Broncos
Patriots
Manning Broncos
Patriots

Pretty bleak.

Honestly? The at-game experience kind of sucks.

Traffic? Waiting in lines? Being crammed next to 75k people?

For all the reasons above is why I respect Mr. Blowfish more and more over the years. The guy is tough as nails and as patient as a kindergarten teacher

Thats not a Chiefs thing. Thats an NFL thing. In 1993 my 3 season tickets in the nose bleeds, in the corner end-zone were $800. My 3 seats 18 years later in the lower bowl were considered partially obstructed seats behind the goal posts were $3300. The money and Herm/Haley and then hiring Crennel did me in as a season ticket holder. So I understand the money part and lots of fun choices and ways to spend money.

Thats just not true. They play like they played the first 5 weeks of the season and at the end of the season, they have a chance.

Being 5-0 and having the NFL by the balls only to go 5-6 the rest of the way does not exactly inspire optimism. Sure they finished the season with a 4 game win streak, but this team isn’t scaring any of the contenders. We have beaten a bunch of INT prone QBs during the streak and that will come to an abrupt end when we go to Pitt or NE. Maybe you’re new to watching Chiefs football, but most of us have seen this movie before and are waiting until next year to see something fresh. The Chiefs haven’t rewarded their fans’ loyalty with a SB win my entire life, why should we expect that to change this year when we have such glaring weaknesses?
