Interesting stat (Cringe)

Pat Mahomes led the league in potential interceptions dropped with 10

If 5 of those had been caught he would have led the league in int's thrown.

Rothelboogers threw 16

We start the year playing a really good defense in Jacksonville.

Are you guys a little concerned this might bite us in the ass this year?

This has to be on Pat and Andy's mind and why Pat when asked what he focused on this off season stated taking more short stuff that defenses were giving him and moving the chains instead of trying to hit home runs.

Sometimes dropped INTs are a product of the throw. Putting the ball where the defender has a shot at one coming in really hot and it bouncing off their hand as they try to react is a lot different than a gimme that hit them in the chest and they whiffed on it. I would guess of those 10, they would have had to be ultra skilled catches to change the numbers a lot, and is less a matter of random stat accumulation where things could have been much different. He can and does take chances other QBs can't get away with.

Did they factor in all the other QB’s dropped picks when determining Pat would’ve led the league?

yeah, there's a reason why he lead the league in that stat. He knows what he can and can't get away with, especially now.

Well, the exact comment was that Pat led the league in dropped ints with 10 and if those had been caught he would have led the league in int's.

So I just used the number 5 which would have him at 17 and I can remember several that were like,OH ShIT! We're lucky. Raiders and Chargers games stand out.

Probably one factor is the the DBs have to run so many miles they're too damn tired to actually catch a ball.

Meh.....While it might be true I've always hated these types of "stats". Maybe Mahomes would have thrown more interceptions if they were all caught but then you have to look at the opposite side of the coin too.

Mahomes completion percentage would have been better if the WRs never dropped a pass.

Mahomes TDs would have been higher if all the passes were caught.

etc. etc.......

Fact is the game was played....this is what happened....this is the stats. Trying to play the "what if" game could be skewered for or against any players stats.
