There is nothing fish love more than double board bomb pots so they can be raked twice and not have to worry about preflop selection. The goal of poker rooms would be to get everyone to do them every hand so they can make more money on rake.

Does Harrahs consistently get a 5/10 game going now? I played in it a few times back in like 2010 and made money each time. It was a lot of fun because everyone had massive stacks of $5 chips.

KC poker is weird. It's usually nothing but 1-2/1-3 games that can sometimes play big, but then out of nowhere a $200bb game will pop up.

Yes we've been playing every Thursday. Its 2/5 NL with 10 UTG mandatory straddle. PLO bomb pot every dealer change. They usually get the same going on Saturday nights but my GF never lets me play weekends unless I make up an excuse I have to travel for a tournament series, which I suck at tournaments.

They also have a Wednesday 2/5 NL with a $10 rock at Hollywood which means the winner of every pot has to straddle...which is one of the dumbest ways to play poker as it disincentivizes aggression preflop and penalizes the winner of a hand but it can be a big game. That essentially starts as a private game though as they manipulate alot of bad players playing with a certain group of people.

Thursdays is really the only day I play in KC. I travel to Joplin on Tuesdays for a 5/10 NL game that many times turns to 10/20.

The bigger games up at Hollywood are all bored regs trying new shit it seems. One day they'll all play plo, then the next day 1-3 and then the next day 2-5.

Where do all the giant games in KC wind up going? Do the players go broke or do they move back to home games? Hollywood used to have a 50/100 mixed and 5/10 NLH and ive seen 25/50 PLO and up to 100/200 omaha (limit?) run consistently when ameristar still had a room.

We used to play 25/50 NL on Wednesdays around 2015 or 2016 but PLO quickly destroyed it and took over. I do not play PLO but there were a few whales that big PLO revolved around for a few years. Pros would fly in even to play in it. Whales are attracted to PLO cuz they feel like they have a chance. I do know there are a couple of pretty big PLO private games and some 5/10 NL private game in Leawood.

Nowadays NL is kind of back in KC. Usually there is some form of 2/5+ available always Wed and Thurs and most Fridays and Saturdays.

If I could ever convince my GF to move to LA, Vegas, Tampa, Ft Lauderdale, Chicago, Philly, PHX I could make alot more money playing live poker since they always have some sort of big NL game.

I've noticed a resurgence in KC poker lately. Unfortunately i don't have the time or money to play anymore. I only playsd live 2 times last year.
