Why, because he allowed a couple of receptions? Wtf do you expect when they have the guy playing 10 yards off? You act like he got torched. The guys had a great ****ing camp according to everybody, but let’s ignore that because he allowed a couple of catches in off man coverage in a preseason game.

Good god you’re a ****ing moron.

He looked like a rookie. Less comfortable than the Denver game. Part of it was play calling. Its the pre-season so he had to work with vanilla plays.

People were just expecting "wow" like the Denver game. I just don't think Mahomes functions very well when he has to work with vanilla plays. He probably got orders, this is the first game we are just going to run some vanilla plays, don't do anything stupid.

Exactly.

Don't make a mistake, don't get hurt, don't get anyone hurt.

That's all you want for the 1st preseason game.

There was no game plan, why on EARTH would they run stuff they're gonna run later on in the year?

Jeeeeeeez, to everyone going "offense looked like last year", well yeah, I bet they specifically called only the most basic plays with simple formations = "vanilla". The defense they played against did the same (and pushed our Oline's shit in, worth mentioning. Oline needs to roid up or something...)

I mean, COME ON...it's PRESEASON lulz

While I support their right to free speech and their employers right to penalize them while making said free speech, this whole debacle is on Trump and the NFL.

Politicians have always used sports for their own partisan benefit. Sports is something we all have in common. This forum is full of different ideals and views on everything there is to have a thought on. But, as long as we stick to sports, we basically get along with one another. Share the teams successes and failures together.

The NFL should have made this a non-issue. Just keep the players in the locker room while the anthem is being played. Just concentrate on football. Leave the politics outside the stadium.

Something else to consider is that Houston had a top 10 defense last year. When you're just playing vanilla, differences in talent level show up the greatest. From what I've read no one got hurt, and few guys "showed" some and the coaches got a view of what they need to work on next. And nobody has a reason to let up because they looked in "regular season form". Can't ask for a lot more than that from preseason 1.

Why is it Trump's fault? Because he dared to voice his opinion? If blame is to be cast, then cast it on Kapernick because he was the one who decided this was the best way for him to show his displeasure with the current state of affairs and dragging politics onto the football field. Could the president and the NFL handled it better? Probably, but don't forget the whole mess was started by a 49ers QB kneeling for the anthem and it seems no one is asking how he could of handled the issues better.
